The Los Angeles Lakers looked unorganized in their loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It fostered frustration within JJ Redick’s group. The sloppy basketball, characterized by high turnovers was a game to forget yet also held as a precedent for the things not to do. But for LeBron James, it became a night of reminiscing. He was home after all, at an arena he spent 11 seasons in and brought a dreamy championship in 2016. Tonight, another highlight had him feeling gratified.
The chants of “we want Bronny” echoed around the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. With the game well out of grasp in the fourth quarter, Redick obliged to the thousands of requests. The 20-year-old son of the Akron Hammer removed his black warm-up jacket and etched a permanent memory in Cleveland. He scored his first NBA basket, a mid-range from the left corner.
“That meant everything to have it happen here,” James said while fielding the fact of his limited visits back to Cleveland. Still, there was an invigorating high to his tone. If he wanted to, the 39-year-old feels he can continue for a few years. That brings him to do something unfathomable. It opens the doors to playing with his younger son, Bryce, a 6’6″ senior for Sierra Canyon.

Initially, LeBron James laughed at the prospect of sharing the court with him. However, playing with Bronny has been “the greatest thing in the world.” So even though he’s unsure, the Lakers forward didn’t fully dismiss the possibility of playing with the 17-year-old. “I don’t know. We’ll see. We’ll see. That would be pretty cool. It’s all about my mind and then seeing how my body reacts over these next couple of years,” he told Cleveland.com.
His former Cleveland teammate, Tristan Thompson feels James might just elongate his career enough. On the other hand, Bryce James feels it would be “OD.” The pivotal factor in his being able to do it comes back to his sound mentality. One way to enjoy the game of basketball, from the vantage point of James is to keep winning.

From the very first quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers lost their footing in the game. The Cavaliers notched up 42 points, 19 more than the Purple and Gold, who had disarrayed offensive possessions and also missed some good looks. However, their Achilles heel tonight came from turnovers alone.
The Lakers didn’t take care of the basketball, logging in only one more assist than their 20 turnovers. LeBron James and Davis, the two focal members combined for half of them. It stung the Lakers deeply, causing 31 points in favor of the Cavs. After the game, Redick, a transparent coach highlighted their carelessness being the cause of the demise.
“We made mistakes. Rotations, and not executing our switches early, did a lot of things that forced us into these mistakes early. But, when you play a good basketball team, you can’t make those mistakes,” he told the media.

This was far from a model showing from the Lakers, who took a tough yet honorable hit in their loss to the Suns two nights prior. It’s now essential for the Purple and Gold to recover quickly and bounce back after back-to-back losses. This is a group that has showcased drastic improvements under Redick with his modern philosophies and attention to detail.
The process is going to be slow. LeBron James is still recovering from his illness and Davis too suffered a knock early in the game. However, while a loss this early is tolerable, damage control must be done. Do you think JJ Redick can inspire the Purple and Gold to return to their best during this road trip?
