The 2023 NBA season is fast approaching. Like every other team, the Washington Wizards have undergone significant roster changes. However, what sets them apart from most squads is that they’ve bid farewell to their top players. The departure of the defensive stretch 5, Porzingis, and the offensive juggernaut, Bradley Beal, has left a notable void. Additionally, the Wizards opted not to pursue the services of veteran point guard Chris Paul. These developments have cast a shadow of uncertainty over the Wizards as they approach the upcoming season.

Currently, the team’s main hope rests on the shoulders of Kyle Kuzma, who is taking on a prominent role, and the addition of former Golden State Warrior Jordan Poole. Kuzma, at 28, and Poole, at 24, are both enjoying the peak of their careers. While they may lack extensive leadership experience, they bring valuable championship experience to the table. With this in mind, these two Wizards are determined to step up and lead Washington into the upcoming season.

The Washington Wizards have undergone significant changes this year. In turn, their prospects for the upcoming season are not very promising. However, Kyle Kuzma looks determined to lead the team the best he could. Recently, he has been actively seeking advice on becoming a better leader for the squad.

According to Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network, Kuzma took the initiative to seek leadership advice from none other than New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter and a Navy Seal.

Kuzma has been in the league for quite a while. Furthermore, he has been in the shadows and acquaintance of some of the greatest players, opening him to a journey like no other.

Kobe Bryant taught Kuzma to stay calm

Kyle Kuzma never had the privilege of playing alongside Kobe Bryant. However, he found himself welcomed into the Lakers family in 2017. The event opened up Kuzma’s chance and possibility of forging a meaningful bond with Kobe Bryant.

In recent years, after his tenure in Los Angeles had come to an end, Kuzma shared a valuable piece of life advice that Kobe imparted to him. In response to a question on Twitter about the same, Kuzma wrote, “Life happens… storms come and go, you just stay calm.”
