Savannah James, Who Was Pregnant With Bronny In High School, Recalls Not Having ‘The Conversation’ With Parents

When we talk about the household names of the NBA, the ‘James’ name naturally comes up at the top. The love story of the NBA power couple, LeBron James and Savannah James, and their three lovely children is a topic no one tires of. Even those not interested in the sport end up getting drawn by Mrs. James’ charms. That’s how charismatic the mother of three is!

Their story also has every ingredient that appeals to the public. Be it the ‘rags to riches’ storyline, or high school sweethearts making it big with perseverance and hard work, the NBA superstar and his better half have inspired millions around the world. And they continue to do so.

Savannah, too, has entered the spotlight and become quite active over the past years. More recently, she and the Crown + Conquer founder, April McDaniel, have started a brand new podcast, Everybody’s Crazy. This time, the pair have gone in-depth into somewhat sensitive topics. And one among them was “the talk”. Yup, we are talking about the adult conversation kids sit for with their parents.

The millionaire businesswoman, for one, admitted something surprising. ” I still never had the s*x talk with my parents.” She further explains that, as a parent herself now, this conversation was something they would have been prepared for. At some point or another, it was a talk the parents had to have with their children.

But she admitted that she was lucky in that she had siblings to help her. Her co-host went one step further and asked Savannah how having ‘the conversation’ with her parents would have affected her first pregnancy. Mrs. James has quite the answer.

Savannah James’ one-word answer to the question about her high school pregnancy

April asked if Savannah would still have Bronny if she had the s*x talk with her parents. Her answer was, “Probably.” The two burst into laughter right after, with McDaniel calling her a “bada**” for her casual reply. The truth of the matter, though, was neither her boyfriend nor she was expecting such a huge change in their lives at a crucial point.

LeBron was just a rookie in the NBA and Savannah was in her senior year when the couple found out they were pregnant with their first child. Unplanned and absolutely unexpected, a young Savannah Brinson was a mess back then. “I was thinking, ‘What am I going to tell my parents?’ What’s going to happen to his career?’ I was very scared. I was bawling.” Mrs. James recounted the experience once in an interview.

Seeing as how her parents never sat her down to explain the intricacies of a relationship would have only added to her fears. Just as much as a support system she was to her legend of a husband, so was he. ” [LeBron] said, ‘It’s not going to slow me down, and it’s not going to slow you down. We’re going to keep doing what we have to do.'” 

There is no doubt that LeBron was right there with Savannah when she broke the news to her parents. He has been by her side since a young Vannah called him out of boredom and invited her to a basketball game.
