After a brutal loss on Saturday against Boston, that too on their home court, the Cleveland Cavaliers hoped to level the series tonight. And amid the hopeful crowd was also a familiar face as hometown kid LeBron James came to the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse along with his wife, Savannah, to support his former team. And happy to see the player who won them a Championship eight years ago, the fans greeted their star with a standing ovation and a tribute video. But, as the game progressed and the Cavs slowly headed toward another loss, the fans saw LeBron and his wife leaving the arena before the final whistle, leading to a humongous outrage.
While the Cavs tried their best to stay in the game despite their best player, Donovan Mitchell, not playing because of a calf injury, they found themselves trailing by five points in the final minutes. And then, the Celtics shattered whatever hope Cleveland had left as Jaylen Brown received a pass from Jayson Tatum and hit a deep shot from beyond the arc to extend his team’s lead to eight points. With that, the Celtics basically ensured their victory, which led to LeBron and Savannah getting up from their seats and leaving early, likely to beat the traffic after the game.

More importantly, just minutes later, the Cavs faced their third loss of this series, going down 102-109 against the best team in the league. And it might be nearly impossible for them to come back from this two-game deficit, as that would mean beating the Cs three straight times. So, it is likely that this series might be the end of the Cavs’ season.
Labeled as “LeQuit”, LeBron James bears the brunt of a frustrated Cleveland fanbase, AGAIN!
While Cleveland fans were already upset from tonight’s heartbreaking loss, watching LeBron walk out of the arena before the game ended brought back more haunting memories for them. After watching the superstar and his wife depart, one fan wrote, “Third time he’s walked out on Cleveland.” Yes, fans remembered the two times ‘The Kid from Akron’ has left his hometown, once in 2010 when he made ‘The Decision’ and left Cleveland in the dust, and then again in 2018 when he made the move to LA.

Another fan shared the same sentiment and claimed that LeBron found a way to “escape” Cleveland for the third time.

Watching him leave before the final whistle, this user deemed it “typical LeBron” behavior as even while he plays for the Lakers, there are numerous times when he has left the game before it ended when his team is sure to lose in the final minutes.
Typical Lebron! Leaving the game before it ends in a loss!

The Barstool Sports account even claimed that LeBron James left early because he wanted to avoid the traffic, which usually gets heavier after the game, even giving him the nickname “LeTraffic.”

Another fan brought back his iconic line from ‘The Decision’ fourteen years ago. “In this fall, I’m gonna take my talents to South Beach.” And mockingly turned it to him, taking his talents to the parking lot tonight.

For sure, his followers were pretty upset. One of them went to the extent of calling LeBron a quitter and claimed “That’s what he does best”.

Over the years, LeBron James has been criticized for every little action or mishap he has had on and off the court, maybe because he is the best player of this era. And his actions tonight added to the list of criticized things as LeBron quit on his losing team. Do you believe he did the right thing by leaving the game early?
