Last year, we saw LeBron James attending one of Zhuri’s volleyball sessions as the Lakers icon cheered on his 10-year-old daughter. Unlike her brothers, Bryce and Bronny, Zhuri has swayed away from basketball to carve her own path. But this doesn’t mean she is leaving her father’s legacy behind. In fact, she is honoring it in her own way and taking it to a different sport.

The Lakers star relishes being a girl dad and even revealed that Zhuri “runs everything” and “What Z says goes in our household, for sure.” Hence, when Zhuri did a solo and team photoshoot wearing her new volleyball gear, James was excited to share these photos on his Instagram.

Zhuri was donning the number 6 jersey in her volleyball uniform, paying homage to her father. LBJ wore that number with the Miami Heat and for a brief period during his Lakers tenure. He even represented the USA in the Olympics wearing that number. Sharing the photos on Instagram he wrote, “🥰🥰😍😍🤎🤎🤎 YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! @allthingszhuri LET’S GO BABY Z!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. In 2021, James talked about his youngest child and how she has a positive influence on him. “My daughter is the greatest thing in my life, along with my boy. So, whenever she smiles, it don’t matter what I’m doing, it makes me happy,” he told Access Hollywood. Notably, Zhuri was in attendance when LeBron James hit the 40,000 points mark in his career.

Speaking after the game, he said, “When I looked up there in the stands and seen her sitting up there,” he gushed. “When the 40,000 point mark hit, definitely looked up there at my wife and looked at my daughter and my mom, and my daughter was just clapping, and pumping her arms up in the air. That was super cool. Blew her kiss, she blew one back to me.”

Meanwhile, Savannah James could not hold back her excitement either and shared the post about Bron’s proud girl dad moment on her IG story, showing her support. Savannah, herself an athlete back in the day looks keen to back her daughter’s career choice in a family filled with basketball talent.

Zhuri is the latest athlete from the James family and will play for City Volleyball, hoping to replicate the success his father had in the number 6 jersey. With her volleyball career about to take off, fans shared their love on James’s post.

NBA World praises Zhuri James after her LeBron James nod

Just like Savannah, the entire NBA World was excited to find out that Zhuri was going to wear number 6 on her volleyball team. One netizen claimed the nod to LBJ was a pure sign of flex by the ten-year-old, “‘Yes, my dad is LeBron James’ pure flex.” When you are the daughter of arguably the greatest player ever, it comes with a lot of hype and Zhuri will look to deliver on the expectations.

The post by LeBron James was shared a day after he made even more history in the NBA. On December 19 against the Sacramento Kings, James broke the record for most minutes played in NBA history. He has officially played 57,471 minutes in 1,517 games. A day later, his daughter gave him another reason to celebrate. There was happiness all around that LBJ’s legacy would live on through Zhuri even after he retires as one wrote, “Like Father, Like Daughter.”

Meanwhile, one netizen was delighted that the name James continues to live on in sports and claimed, “‘Blocked by James’ lives on. Love it” perhaps referring to LeBron’s iconic Game 7 block on Andre Iguodala during the 2016 NBA Finals, a moment that is forever etched in sports history. And now, those same lines can be used for Zhuri when she gets a block during one of her volleyball games. One fan simply wrote, “SHE’S DESTINED FOR GREATNESS.”

Zhuri is also following her brothers in taking up the sporting legacy of their father. This has been a fantastic year for the ‘James Gang’ Bronny lit up the G League a couple of weeks ago, scoring a career-high 30 points for the South Bay Lakers against the Valley Suns, while Bryce is making waves at Sierra Canyon with offers from Division I basketball programs.

Zhuri’s career will be closely followed by many and she will carry a weight of expectation as well. She can be sure that her father and mother will be by her side supporting her, as he embarks on what could be a long and storied athletic journey.
