It feels like a fairytale moment even to this day. A week ago, LeBron James and Bronny James made history when they walked onto the court together. The first father-son duo of the NBA, a precious moment worth remembering for ages. On courtside sat the 20-year-old’s mother, Savannah James gleaming with pride. The little boy she held for the first time on October 6, 2004, was following his father into the league and for the Lakers.

However, for a mother watching her child grow up is a series of stress and anxiety. So many what-ifs come into play in the birthgiver’s mind. And Savannah James wasn’t an exception in this case. What did Vannah feel when she saw Bron and Bronny on the court together? Speaking on the Tamron Hall Show, she said:

“First of all, extremely proud. I honestly didn’t know how I would feel once I saw them on the court together. I’m like ‘I see him in the driveway all the time’.” Savannah added: “It’s not a big deal. But understanding the moment and history, and you know how special it was. It was really amazing.” 

Tamron Hall reminded the crowd that the boy has Savannah James’ DNA as well and she too has some skills around basketball. Which, the 38YO said that she played softball in her early days. Seeing his wife’s candid emotions on the talk show, LeBron James could not contain his love and applause. He took to his IG Story, reposted the reel, and captioned: “🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.”

The ever-supportive wife’s ever-supportive husband once again gave us an endearing moment to go “aww.” While we talk about Bronny and how he’s made his mom proud, we cannot ignore the fact that it was Zhuri who altered Savannah James’ course, turning her into an entrepreneur and founder of Let It Break.

There’s a saying, “daughters are their mother’s best friends.” Well, in the case of Savannah and her daughter, the phrase might have turned into reality.  The 38-year-old has worn many hats over the years, but it’s primarily the role she’s played as a mother of three that’s been highly appreciated. But, the youngest James, Zhuri pushed her mother to go beyond the basics.

Appearing on the Tamron Hall Show alongside her business partner April McDaniel, Savannah shared how a remark from Zhuri spurred her to reconsider her impact. “My daughter is who really catapulted me to want to be and do more,” she told the audience. Savannah recalled that a few years back, Zhuri had sweetly told her, “I want to be just like you.” While this comment warmed her heart, it also brought a mix of pride and pressure. She said her daughter’s remarks from three years ago were the reason Mama James gave Let It Break some thoughts.  Those thoughts turned to life earlier this year in June.
