It is not easy when a loved one is put under the scrutiny of an unwanted allegation, isn’t it? As private individuals, we see such incidents being usually confined to a few people. That is what makes things tougher when such things happen to public stars, as their ‘dirty laundry’ ends up being aired amongst millions of people. In such situations, one needs to assure the people and the victim that the allegation carries no foundation. As LeBron James’ wife was recently put under one of them, the Lakers star took it upon himself to drop some reassurances.
The 40-year-old recently took to Instagram and put a post for his 159 million followers. It featured the Lakers star having a conversation with his wife, Savannah, who was enlightening the moment with her vibrant smile.
As she looked directly into LeBron’s eyes, it was obvious just how much the feeling of love and admiration continued to exist between the two even after 12 years of marriage, and around 2 decades of togetherness. LeBron highlighted the same by adding a quote alongside the post that read, ““Kings don’t concern themselves with the opinions of peasants.” Where to next Queen?!?! Let’s get it! 👸🏾🖤♾️”.

The timing of LeBron James’ post might indicate him speaking about the playoffs. At the same time, however, there may be something else he might be attempting to contradict. After all, it was only a few hours ago when the NBA player was mentioned by 39-year-old rapper Kevin Gates in his recent IG video. Gates was seen in the clip talking about paying attention to couples, particularly in the sports world. That’s when he dropped the head-turning take that he would not want to trade places with LeBron James, just because of how he believes Savannah looks at him.
“You act like the warden of the jail, like you came here to police me. You not d**d out like these white women,” said Gates, about Savannah. “I just couldn’t do it. It hurt me to see that. Man, you dive on the floor behind that n*a man.”
Well, was anyone still in doubt that Savannah didn’t look as well at her beau as she did earlier? In that case, they only need to check LeBron’s recent social media post. There, one would find nothing but affection in the way the now 38-year-old looks at her ‘king’. Without naming Kevin Gates in his post, LeBron rose above the drama while still defending his loved one against unsubstantiated allegations.
Sure, Savannah James is not always seen smiling in photos where in she was captured attending some public event with LeBron. Nor does she always look at her husband during such events. Then again, who does? Who can maintain focus on just one person for entire hours, or continue smiling at them constantly? Kevin Gates simply judged a book by its cover (which you shouldn’t do, unless you’re a Hunger Games or Harry Potter fan, because those book covers are just awesome). He might have seen a few pictures circulating on the internet, or seen a few seconds of Savannah being in public, and made a judgment. Everyone is a complex figure in their way, even Savannah. After being together with LeBron for 2 decades, it is certainly not our place to judge if she chooses to sometimes not show affection in public.

Does LeBron's post prove that love and support are his true MVPs on and off the court?

As LeBron highlighted through “Where to next Queen?!?! Let’s get it!”, he wants Savannah to be a part of whatever the future holds for him next. As Savannah herself highlighted, the future has the player continuing to extend his longevity to play with another of his son, as if playing alongside just one wasn’t enough.
Savannah James reportedly highlights LeBron’s future amid Bryce’s Arizona commitment: “cheer you on through this journey”
Back on Thursday, another member of the James clan took the next big step in his basketball journey. Bryce James, the middle child and youngest son of LeBron and Savannah James, officially joined Arizona after committing back in January. As expected, Savannah put out a post commemorating her son’s feat on Instagram. She put out a post that read “So proud of you @_justbryce!! Your silent hustle has definitely not gone unnoticed!! I’m so excited for you and I can’t wait to cheer you on through this journey!”
For some, it was simply a mother’s encouragement. For renowned NBA reporter Rachel Nichols, however, it was a window. A look into how the James family might be seeing Bryce’s journey and deciding LeBron’s future, too.
“All of a sudden, Savannah James said that she wants LeBron to play through when Bryce is in the league. So, that’s not next season, where he will be at Arizona, it’s the season after that. You don’t think if Luka is winning him rings, he’s going to just stay? He certainly could,” said Nichols in a recent segment for Sports Illustrated on YouTube.

LeBron James is 40 years old. There is no question that the discussion about his retirement continues to be rampant in today’s NBA. Granted, LeBron dominates at a higher level than some of the other NBA legends did at his age. However, does he have enough strength to continue leading the Lakers for more seasons? Thanks to the team’s acquisition of Luka Doncic, however, the Lakers have another scorer to take the pressure off LeBron from time to time. This ensures that the player does not have to play more than his body allows. It allows him to be a part of the NBA for more seasons. Who knows, maybe he will even get to play alongside Bryce before officially retiring.
From the looks of things, LeBron James isn’t going anywhere. The more games he plays, the more chances Savannah gets to show her in-person support for her beau. That will continue discrediting the claims that Kevin Gates put out.
