An immigrant family comes to the US and makes it big here. That’s the American Dream. But how many people you know were born in the US, only to spend a major chunk of their life in their parent’s country of origin? Well, we can name one such person: the San Antonio Spurs’ Sandro Mamukelashvili.
Sandro, whose real name is Alexander, moved to Tbilisi, Georgia soon after he was born in New York. He spent most of his growing up and formative years there but soon found his way back to the States. And it’s here where he’s made something out of himself by having quite a successful career as a basketball player in the NBA.
The journey back to the US, though, wasn’t easy, simply because the demands for the game are different overseas. “In Europe, they love players who can do everything. My coach was invested in me, not just as a screen-and-roll guy. You have to bring the ball up, call the play, push in transition,” Mamukelashvili once said.

Putting it simply, he was a ‘position-less’ player. But, things changed. He became a stronger and ‘complete big man’ in no time during college itself. So let’s see how well the towering star has done for himself over the years.
What is Sandro Mamukelashvili’s salary with Spurs? When does his contract end?
Sandro has some overachievers in his family. Take his aunt, Eteri Andjaparidze for instance. She’s a world-renowned pianist and professor at NYU. The family home was often filled with the notes of classical music. Not to be outshone by anyone, Sandro had to find a way to keep up. And being an NBA star was the perfect means to that end. However, so far, he’s still trying to live up to that example.

As things stand, Sandro is on a league-minimum contract with the San Antonio Spurs. The deal is worth $2.16 million per Spotrac and will last one year. Mamukelashvili will become an unrestricted free agent once the 2024/25 season concludes. And who knows? Perhaps he’ll find greener pastures once he leaves the Spurs.
Regardless, Mamu has earned quite a bit of money as an NBA player. That’s just how things go, even if you’re closer to the bottom than the top. In this case, though, we can say for sure that Sando is on his way to the top. Let’s find out exactly how much he has made.

How much has Sandro Mamukelashvili earned over the years from the NBA?
The Indiana Pacers drafted Sandro in 2021, then traded him to the Bucks where he was on a two-way contract before they waived him. And that’s why we don’t really know how much they paid him.
But his stint with the Spurs is a different story. We know exactly when and how much they paid Mamu. Like in 2022, they paid him $357, 717 after he impressed them enough to earn himself a rest of the season contract with them.
The following year, in 2023, they offered him a 1-year, $2.02 million. And he gladly accepted it, keeping him at the Spurs till the 2023/24 season.

The Spurs used some great financial savvy in the most recent way they extended his tenure at the club. They renounced their right to use the Bird exception so he wouldn’t count toward their salary cap. This allowed them to sign him to the aforementioned $2.16 million contract in July 2024.

Sandro has made quite a pretty penny in the NBA. He’s earned $4, 540, 029 from his contracts thus far. At only 25, he’s got all the time in the world to improve on that figure. And if he can keep performing the way he did against the New York Knicks in March 2025, then a massive upgrade in his finances may be on its way for Sandro Mamukelashvili.
But how have these contracts affected his net worth?

What is Sandro Mamukelashvili’s net worth?
Sadly, as of 2025, there are no concrete reports about Sandro Mamukelashvili’s net worth. Unlike a lot of his peers, Sandro has yet to establish a strong online presence, be it by choice or for brand endorsements. But expect that to change soon as his performances this season for the Spurs in the absence of their heaviest hitter, Victor Wembanyama will put him on the map like never before.
Sandro’s NBA career has seen its fair share of ups and downs. From being waived to dropping 34 points against a very strong Knicks team, he’s come a long way. But he has a lot of ground to cover before he can look back with pride at his NBA career and call it a day!
