Saddened by the Conflict in Middle-East, Kyrie Irving Sends a Powerful Message, Amid Mavericks’ Response: “GOD Never Intended…”

Kyrie Irving has mesmerized every NBA fan with his silky handles and astounding finishing. He has won an NBA title, has 8x All-Star appearances, and has 3x All-NBA accolades to his name. He will go down as one of the best point guards in NBA history. But despite his accomplishments, Kyrie Irving remains one of the most polarizing players in the current NBA landscape.

The 31-year-old recently went public with his feelings regarding the ongoing dispute between Israel and Palestine. Irving took to Twitter to express his sadness.

Kyrie Saddened by the War

Tensions escalated between Israel and Palestine when Hamas (a Palestinian fundamentalist and nationalist organization) infiltrated Israeli borders on October 7th. On October 8th, Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu formally declared war on Hamas. The Israeli military looked to force militants out of their country. The death toll for the conflict has crossed 1,100 people, as both countries continue to bomb each other.

Going by the alias of ‘Chief Hela’, Kyrie wrote, “My Heart mourns for all of the innocent lives lost in the crossfires of War. GOD never intended for Humanity to destroy one another”. Fingers crossed emoji and a peace sign accompanied the post. Many NBA franchises like the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat took to social media to show their solidarity with the people of Israel.

The Mavericks put out a statement on Twitter that said, “The Dallas Mavericks stand with Israel and continue to pray for peace in our world”.

Kyrie Irving: An Agent for Social Change
