Is ESPN making a huge mistake by considering a replacement for Wojnarowski? What’s your take?

The NBA World is yet to find a replacement for crowned Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski. Following Woj’s retirement, many reports have surfaced online, identifying the next Woj! Moreover, many speculations also have come up on ESPN’s behind-the-screen episodes.  In the meantime, the media realm of the hoops nation has gone through a paradigm shift, surprising the audience with drastic calls. Especially, ESPN. Most recently, the media giant laid off the popular NBA analyst, Zach Lowe.

The 47-year-old came into the NBA scene after a rich experience as a crime reporter. However, once he stepped into sports journalism, ESPN lunged forward to rope him in 2015. Reportedly, the Bleacher Report aggressively pursued to steal Lowe in 2016, but the ace reporter stuck with the legacy media. However, eight years later, the same company laid him off in response to their fiscal year planning. Notably, The Athletic reported that the media organization decided because of Lowe’s seven-figure salary.

In response to the layoff, Brian Windhorst, who was tied to speculation with Adrian Wojnarowski, dropped an emotional message. In the latest episode of Hoop Collective, Windy hosted a special segment for Lowe and said, “He was a tremendous teammate here on ESPN podcast, you know that Zach and I did podcast together at the conclusion of the finals games over the last few years. We spent a lot of time together… Couple of the biggest stories I did at ESPN were with Zach.”

Above all, he said, “We are very sorry and sad to see him go. I wish him the best but he doesn’t need my wishes. He’s gonna to be great. So I will say thank yo and best of luck.” Currently, Lowe has his podcast show running. While Windhorst delivered a heart-warming message, he is amidst a speculation with Wojnarowski.

What’s the Adrian Wojnarowski speculation involving Brian Windhorst?

As soon as Woj dropped one final bomb about his retirement, many names were thrown in as his replacements, including Shams Charania, Haynes, Pat McAfee and many more. But, one name wasn’t present, it was the “LeBron Whisperer”, Windhorst. Well, this isn’t a coincidence. There’s a reason behind it as per Windy himself. According to his sources, “he’s been held back by Woj’s outsized presence.”

However, Windy finally may have the chance to spread his wings in the NBA media realm. Especially, with Windhorst’s command when it comes down to covering LeBron James. The veteran reporter has closely followed the superstar since his high school. Moreover, with the entry of Bronny James into the league, creating history by playing his father, the vet may have interesting opportunities in the future to prove his worth.

On the other hand, he may have to be careful with his competition. Especially, with 30-year-old Shams Charania, who has literally taken the NBA Insiders. Notably, the latest Karl-Anthony Towns blockbuster trade was first aired by The Athletic. So, Windy might want to improve his connections within the league and gear up for the upcoming challenge.
