Your first one is always special. Be it your first word, your first day at school, your first job, or your first love! For Stephen Curry, it was basketball and the universal rule remained intact throughout the years. And what else remained unchanged? His love for his family as it became evident once again.
“Ten years, I want to be known as a true professional. A guy that played the game the right way. Hopefully still in the league and still effective in the league as not that many people that last double-digit years,” a 21-year-old Stephen Curry said after his NBA Draft, his first step to greatness. And greatness is something Curry can be related to after his performance in the Paris Olympics. Again, his first. Having his family not only boosted Curry’s morale, it propelled his performance to a “Godly” level, witnessed by the world in the final two games. The 36-year-old earned his first (yet again) Olympic gold medal, and the credit goes to the Curry family, as detailed by the All-Star.
In an interview with The Athletic, Curry detailed his Olympics experience and how his family made it even more special. “You’re fully there. The sacrifice of what my family went through to allow me to be fully there. It just gave me the ability to play basketball and try to have as much fun as possible. It was one of those pure moments that will stand out when you look back on your life and the experiences you had. It was the most surreal feeling, especially the way it ended. I felt like a kid again. A 12-out-of-10 experience,” Chef Curry said about the magical outing he had in Team USA colors.

Steph’s mother and wife, Ayesha, flew to Paris before the semi-final and their arrival made an instant impact. Before having his family close by, Curry averaged 7.2 points in 4 games, which turned into 30 PPG in the final two games. So it’s safe to say, Curry’s family was the MVP for him as his dreadful campaign turned into one for the ages.

Stephen Curry, an NBA star and a devoted family man
Stephen Curry’s physique was always a point of scrutiny during his early days. But with his parents’ encouragement, Steph overcame the odds to make himself one of the greatest players to ever step foot on the hardboard. After Ayesha Curry came into his life, she showed no hesitance to persevere, making sacrifices for her husband’s success.
In a post-game press conference in April, Curry thanked his wife for the sacrifices she makes for his career in an emotional speech. “It’s not easy what we do and it reminds you of the sacrifices we make, our family makes to allow us to do what we do on the courts. So, it’s nice to have them here,” the Warriors star said.
