“The best part was not the rings though, it was the friendships I made that will last a lifetime,” said Klay Thompson in his farewell note, describing the Dubs. In the last 13 seasons, the 4x champ found an irreplaceable spot in the hearts of the Golden State Warriors fans. One day, abruptly, the ace shooter decided to call it quits. And, months after the heart-breaking trade to the Dallas Mavericks, the 34-year-old dropped a heart-wrenching confession. Now, Klay doubled it down with a warning about unkind people he came across.
The 5x NBA All-Star isn’t much of a talker. Throughout his stay in the league, Thompson stayed away from controversies. However, this summer, the star himself lit up a wildfire after walking away from the Dubs’ fold. While several reports suggest that the star left the side as found it miserable during the contract extensions, there isn’t any clarity. Nevertheless, China Klay’s last two emotional confessions tell a different story.
Firstly, Klay Thompson, speaking from his experience, dropped shocking advice to star creator Tristan Jass, who makes content on basketball. The star guard had a surprise workout session with Jass, saying, “I mess with you, bro because I love your spirit,” and followed it up with some valuable advice. After a hard go at the gym, the duo pulled up aside shared wisdom.

Since Klay was wiser in between them, he did the talking. Speaking of Jass’ fan following and popularity, the star said, “Trust me, man, you got a big following, you see in the comments. You lurk, you’re gonna get hurt, bro. People are just like sometimes they’re rotten to the core and like, don’t ever let that stop you from what you do.” That definitely sounded like it came out of experience. Nevertheless, these words are just an extension of his previous confession.
What was Klay Thompson’s teary-eyed confession?
More than fans, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have a direct impact on Klay’s departure. While Steph expressed his sorrow at the exit, Green had a distinct response. DrayMagic said, “I’m happy he left because I did not enjoy at all seeing him the way I saw him last year.” Moreover, he didn’t stop that. He also expressed how the star’s exit financially stabilized the Warriors fold. Quite a cold response!
However, Green’s words didn’t really irk any response from Thompson, or did he? In the last few weeks, the NBA world witnessed multiple workout videos of Thompson, working out with different sets of people. And at the same time, we may also get small bytes from those videos. In that lineup, Klay once made a tear-filled speech, addressing the criticisms he received.

Thompson said, “You‘re playing in a crazy era where everybody has something to say. Your parents, coaches, internet trolls… Your outcome doesn’t matter, you just have to work on your craft every day. Focus on that. Playing basketball for a living. There’s really better job than that.” While we couldn’t dig out the buried undertone of this speech, it’s very clear that Thompson didn’t quit the Warriors just because of the contract negotiation. What do you think the reason could be? Let us know.
