NBA wants to know

As per Chris Haynes’ report on TNT with Ernie Johnson, James Harden returned to the team facility for practice. He also turned up at the airport to board the plane with the team. However, the Sixers security official and coach Nick Nurse had other plans and guided him to stay in Philly to get the necessary practice done. But the assistant coach who works with James Harden was traveling to Milwaukee, and James Harden was not happy about that.

As James Harden will not be a part of the game against the Bucks, the NBA had set up an investigation to determine the validity of the reasons based on which he was given a pass. Chris Haynes reports that Mike Bass of the NBA has asked the Sixers to show the cause of his absence.

This season, the league is cracking down on load management issues with at most seriousness. Thus, for a superstar to be not on the team despite no injuries, will have some serious repercussions. But James might have some cushion too. As he can counter it by saying that he was available for the team, but was not allowed by the Sixers to take part in the game. But will that be satisfactory enough for the authority to him a clean chit remains to be seen?
