The Knicks won the tough-battled Game 2 against the Pacers in MSG tonight. They faced an injury scare in Jalen Brunson early in the game, rendering him away from the court for the first half. Moreover, as OG Anunoby gripped their offense, the athletic wing stumbled onto a hamstring concern, ending his night in the last 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter. With that, the Knicks came through with their camaraderie, teamwork, and belief in each other. However, all they got in return was sardonic commentary and mockery; unexpectedly by Charles Barkley.
Barkley opened the post-game TNT telecast by citing the Knicks will get “stomped by the Celtics,“ in the next round. He then went on a rampage to belittle the Knicks’ ball game, hoping to lower its fans’ expectations. He then inserted his snarky remarks as the crew went over the highlights of the game. Then, Charles Barkley’s mockery came at the expense of Jalen Brunson. There was confusion amongst fans about JB’s injury in the first quarter. Several sources claimed it was a hand issue, while others hinted at a foot concern. With that, on Brunson’s 1.5 quarters of absence, Chuck said, “Turns out to be nothing actually. He was resting, watching Chicago MED.”
Chuck called the Knicks “overrated“ and hit them with “Y’all think y’all the greatest thing since sliced bread,” remark. However, the Knicks fans can find a silver lining in Barkley’s taunts, as his comments come purely out of his frustration with the Pacers’ loss. Shaquille O’Neal and Chuck have Indiana Pacers as their favorites to win the round two. With that, all statements by Chucks signify how good the Knicks have been balling out recently!

The series is far from over for Jalen Brunson and the Knicks
Jalen Brunson, despite the webs of confusion, emerged out of the uncertain clouds and spearheaded the Knicks to a win. However, in the process, OG Anunoby, who kept the Knicks floating in Brunson’s absence, saw a worrisome end to the game. Anunoby put up his best post-season game, posting 28 points alongside 4 threes; one of which helped the Knicks regain the lead in the third. However, nearly 4 minutes later, Anunoby was seen on the sidelines.
He seemed concerned about his left leg. “I’m not sure. I haven’t talked to medical yet,” head coach Tom Thibodeau couldn’t explain the gravity of Anunoby’s injury. However, OG has a lengthy medical profile, which has often rendered him out for extended times in the past. He has been one of the key players for the Knicks, who already face long absences from Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson.
With that, depending on the severity of OG’s injury, he could see the bench for a day or two to 6 weeks! If the latter happens, the Knicks’ chances in the ongoing series could change drastically; especially since they will now face the Pacers on the road.
