Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James came into the league as a much hyped prospect. Eventually, he went on to live up to his expectation or maybe even succeed it. NBA All-Time scoring record stands tall as a proof. But he also has a story which catapulted him into a star from nobody during his High School. That story was lately narrated by the Akron Hammer’s former teammate.
The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him as the #1 draft pick of 2003 class, and he entered the league with some of the biggest names. The fans’ expectations skyrocketed even before he set his foot on the hardwood because of his popularity. Subsequently, he went on to win the Rookie of the Year award in 2003-04 season. Fans may know about his glorious entry into the league, but not everyone knows about the game in his high school which turned him into who is now.

A former teammate narrates iconic moment of LeBron James’ life
Dwight Howard played his last season in the NBA with LeBron James’ Lakers in the 2021-22 season before he left to Taiwan for SBL. Moreover, Howard won his only NBA Championship with James in 2020. Almost 2 decades after his entry into the NBA, he opened up about King James in a recent interview, talking about the iconic moment when everyone realized his potential.

Featuring in a podcast conversation with Math Hoffa, Howard opened up about various NBA superstars and, importantly, about the iconic High School game. While talking about the greatness of the Lakers superstar, he spoke about his first match-up against James when he was 15. He said, “I remember not knowing who LeBron was and after that game everybody knew who LeBron.”
Furthermore, he summarized the superstar’s growth from highschool to becoming the scoring champion of the league.
In the long-standing career of James, he has crossed many milestones in the league. Howard highlighted a special milestone while addressing the iconic game.

Before surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s score, the NBA world cherished the moment when James surpassed Kobe Bryant’s points. Especially Howard cherished as he had watched him since his early High School dominance.

“I just want to tell him that I’m real proud of him and I’ve been playing against LeBron since I was 15,” Howard said in the same podcast.
