Courtside seats in the NBA bring you straight into the action. You get a tub of popcorn and beverages and enjoy 6ft+ guys going ballistic on the floor. It’s the best seats in the house, and, if you’re lucky, you can get a hi-fi from LeBron James. It’s a dream for most people. And certainly, the ‘Princess Diaries’ actress Anne Hathaway and her son got into the thick of the action. When the Chicago Bulls visited the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden, Hathway got her tickets worth with OG Anunoby involved.
Often, we see players hustling for balls and jumping into the crowds, spilling that very same tub of popcorn we mentioned earlier. It’s a part of the game as all sports leagues have ticketing rules, something called the “assumption of risk.” If a player spills your popcorn in the act of a play, you can’t get a refund. Of course, it’s different if they spill your drink intentionally.

However, Anne Hathaway and her son Jack won’t get a refund. Instead, she got the best view of what NBA basketball players would look like if they came over to fall on you in the act of play. Bizarre moments like these have occurred when fans get injured when players fall on them. But Anne Hathway got lucky as she took to Instagram to appreciate the experience. Notably, OG Anunoby tried to save the ball and ran into a barrier on the sideline.
The athlete almost landed on the mother and son, scattering Jack’s popcorn across the floor. Of course, the kid didn’t look pleased, by the way! He stared at Anunoby in shock, but Anne Hathaway found the funny side of it. She posted the video and captioned it, “🏀🧡 Bucket-list moment 💙🗽.” To this, OG Anunoby replied, “You’re welcome.”

In the video, Hathaway also mentioned, “I almost got crashed into last night! I always wanted that to happen. Thanks OG!” There are multiple incidents regarding player-fan interactions on the courtside and sometimes it gets a little edgy. LeBron James knew it the hard way.

Apart from OG Anunoby, LeBron James once found himself in a heckler situation in Atlanta
In a game against the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James found himself in a war of words with someone he dubbed later the fan as “Courtside Karen”. The incident happened in the fourth quarter when officials halted play and called security to eject a fan from the courtside seats. She apparently gave a middle-finger salute to LeBron James as she left the State Farm Arena with her husband and another couple. The fan yelled at James as they went back and forth in the courtside clash. But later, the fan apologized and LeBron chose not to escalate the situation.
He stated, “There was a back-and-forth between two grown men. We said our piece. He said his piece, I said my piece. Then someone else jumped into it and said their piece. I didn’t think they should have been kicked out. But they might have had a couple of drinks, maybe. … The referees did what they had to do.”
