Could Tyrese Haliburton's next move redefine the NBA landscape? Who's the mystery star behind it?

Tyrese Haliburton is coming off a great season as he pivoted his team to the Eastern Conference finals against the mighty Celtics. That’s not it! The 24-year-old also got to experience the gold medal run of Team USA at the Paris Olympics. However, he did not get to play that much, as he got on the court for only three out of six games. Still, the Pacers point guard managed to pull off his off-court tricks on fellow NBA legends. The Indiana guard a while ago confessed how he tried to assemble a super team in Indiana.

Recently, Tyrese Haliburton’s media interaction while the player was on his way to his hometown, Oshkosh, got everyone’s attention. Jokingly admitting his secret from Paris, the 2x NBA All-Star said, “I recruited every guy on that team basically. Anyone that wants to come join us in Indiana, I’m all for it.” It is not that out in the open, but players do try to recruit players in blue and red stripes at the Olympics. Yearning for proof? Well, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh shared the 2008 Olympic squad and 2006 FIBA World Championship roster. Later on, the same trio came together to form ‘Heatles’ for Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014. Not to mention KD’s union with Andre Iguodala [2010 FIBA World Championship, 2012 Olympics] and Stephen Curry during the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

Nevertheless, Haliburton isn’t sure about the outcomes of his proposal. “There will probably something that comes out of it.” Not sure if any Team USA player will take bait from the Pacers guard. However, someone else definitely proposed the same offer to Tyrese Haliburton as well. Revealing it to the North Western, the 24-year-old said, “I definitely got recruited, but I’m not going anywhere.” Coming off a staggering season, putting up 20.1 points per game along with 10.9 APG, it is no wonder Team USA members were offered a place on their respective NBA rosters.

However, who would have been the right fit for the Pacers’ need right now from Team USA?

Which Team USA member would’ve joined Tyrese Haliburton’s proposal in Paris?

The young core of the Indiana Pacers had all they needed this season. Their spectacular offense showcased why they got the accolades of being the second most efficient postseason offense. However, against the Boston Celtics, the only thing they missed was Tyrese Haliburton. He often puts his helping hand on the rim protection, as he averaged 3.9 rebounds last season. But they did not get the chance, and the Celts kept on scoring while heavily guarding the Pacers’ offense.

The Team USA member that would have fit right with Indiana’s lackluster department is Anthony Davis. He averaged 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game at the Paris Olympics. With such an impressive stat line, Anthony Davis will be the missing piece for the Indiana Pacers and their championship ambitions.
