The Boston Celtics have made some significant moves this off-season. Jayson Tatum and Co. suffered a brutal loss against the Miami Heat in last season’s Eastern Conference Finals. After going down 3-0 in the series, the Celtics fell one game short of making a historical comeback. Their elimination made the Celtics Front Office realize that they needed to make some changes in their roster to get their hands on the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy. Boston made a huge three-team deal in June that saw 7’3 Center Kristaps Porzingis join their squad. The Celtics quickly gave the Unicorn a 2-year contract extension worth $60 million.

Despite signing a massive contract extension with the Boston Celtics, Porzingis did not have a very good summer. The Latvian addressed his Setbacks of Summer ahead of his Boston Celtics debut.

Some of the biggest NBA stars, including Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards, were busy representing their nation in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. But Kristaps Porzingis missed his opportunity to bring glory to his country because of a foot injury. He was ruled out of the World Cup because he was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis in his right foot. Porzingis could have pushed through the minor injury but decided to make a sacrifice for his long-term health.

Porzingis addressed the media about the major setback, “It was a tough decision. I know it may not seem like it was such a big deal, but it was a big deal for me not to be able to play for my country in the World Cup. It really hurt my soul. But I knew it was the right decision and I’m glad I made the tough decision in that moment, and now I’m 100 percent to start the season.” The 7’3” Center has fully recovered from his injury and is ready to make his debut for the Boston Celtics.

Kristaps Porzingis might lead the Boston Celtics to a title

Kristaps Porzingis is coming off a great season with the Washington Wizards. He averaged a career-high 23.2 points with the Wizards last season and could be the missing piece for the Boston Celtics. Porzingis is an elite shooter from beyond the arc and can protect the paint because of his 7’6 wingspan. He can help Jayson Tatum and Co. stretch the floor and provide more firepower to their offense.

Boston has also added 2-time All-Star Jrue Holiday after he parted ways with the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster trade. Porzingis and Holiday can become the new defensive anchors for the Celtics as that position is open after they traded Former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart. The Boston Celtics have not been able to win a Championship since 2008 and will look to change that with the addition of Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday.
