Celebrating his 25 birthday, Luka Doncic was coming into the game against the Toronto Raptors after a traumatic, almost inescapable loss. Max Struss of the Cavaliers had nailed a 59-foot game-winner to extend the Mavericks’ losing streak. They had lost two in a row, even with both him and Kyrie Irving balling out. What they needed was something special. The Wizard of Dallas provided just that. A 39th career 30-point triple-double in the win over Toronto. Additionally, he beat out LeBron James too.

Doncic had his eyes on his teammates from the moment the game began. He racked up 6 assists of the eight in the first quarter itself. As far as scoring was concerned, he looked shaky. Doncic only hit 1 of his 8 three-pointers but shot 11 for 23 from the floor. He became the first player in NBA history to have a 30-point triple-double on his birthday. The 25-year-old also did it for the 39th time in his career, better than LeBron James managed in 21 years in the NBA. A Real Madrid FC legend was in disbelief when he found out just what Doncic is doing at the age he is.

Toni Kroos can’t believe Luka Doncic beat LeBron James at the age of 25

One of the most talented and silky passers in the NBA, Luka Doncic is known for his targeted accuracy, just like Toni Kross, the German soccer superstar is known for. Just like Kroos, Doncic is also supremely gifted, which is why coming directly from him means a lot for the NBA star. When finding out about the astonishing stat, Kroos couldn’t believe what was unfolding in front of him. He could only envision the great career that Doncic is bound to have considering he is smashing records for fun at the age of 25. Kroos commented on a post of the Dallas Mavericks congratulating their franchise pillar. It was the shocked face emoji with the message, “Age 25”.

Kroos sees what’s coming. It’s an innate ability of his. He also understands how hard it is to beat a veteran such as King James to such a young age, that too on his (Doncic’s) birthday. But for Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Mavericks, Doncic putting on such crafty and impressive performances has become regular, and hence unsurprising. “Just a normal game, triple-double. He was really good. I guess 25 means he’s still going to be really good as he gets older here,” said Kidd after the win against the Toronto Raptors.

Luka Doncic is currently the leading scorer in the NBA averaging 34.4 points per contest. His colorful scoring arsenal covers every avenue of scoring there is. The oversized guard can play with his back to the basket, is an elite finisher, and has an incredible range from the perimeter. He is a complete basketball player who impacts the game in all ways possible. Post the 39th career-triple double, Doncic now only trails Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson who have 48 and 106, respectively.

It was his ninth straight game of scoring over 25 points this season. Doncic is looking almost unflappable to pressure. With him and KAI working fluently now, the Mavericks’ postseason hopes are at the pinnacle. And we know how Luka Magic transforms into a more lethal and aggressive ego than usual when he enters the playoffs. The times are scary, and for Doncic no records aren’t in sight.
