When James Harden played for the Rockets, he was arguably the most lethal offensive player in the league. But with him turning 35 this August, he is long past his prime and has entered the latter stages of his career. Thoughts of the legacy he will leave behind have started seeping into Harden’s mind. However, Pistons legend Rasheed Wallace, who recently claimed that JH was among the ones who negatively impacted his hometown team, Philly, claims he won’t remember The Beard for anything more than a viral incident from 4 years ago.

In a recent interview, Harden was asked how he wants to be remembered after he bids farewell to the league. He replied, “That I was a winner, that I was a teacher. I had a different love for the game.” Revealing his passion for basketball regardless of the money and the way he passes down his knowledge to young athletes across the world, the vet wanted people to remember this side of him. But reacting to The Beard’s response, Wallace slammed the former MVP on Sheed and Taylor by revealing Harden’s image in his eyes, saying, “I’m gonna remember him for giving another grown man a bag full of honey buns and money.”

“If a man gave me a bag full of money with honey buns inside there. I’m going to have to get that bag… back to that…” he concluded. Of course, Wallace was referring to the time when Harden gifted rapper Lil Baby $100,000 in cash and a Richard Mille watch in a Prada bag full of honey buns on his 26 birthday four years ago. Even Lil Baby couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Harden’s gift and wrote, “How the fu*k I get a bag full of honey buns with a honey bun and a Richard Millie!! Mannn (James Harden) brooooo wtf!! An I’m drunk.” While it was a very expensive gift from Harden, Rasheed and many others believed that the choice was rather unusual.

As surprising as it may seem, this is not the first time this year Wallace has fired shots at Harden. On The Stephen A. Smith Show back in February, Wallace put all the blame for the Sixers’ struggles on The Beard and former head coach Doc Rivers. “I don’t like how they f**ed up my Sixers either…. I want both of those motherf***ers outta Philly.” Being born in Philadelphia, Wallace has been a Sixers fan all his life and couldn’t hide his frustration after seeing the drama Harden created there earlier this season.

Calling Daryl Morey a liar on several public platforms, Harden made it clear that he didn’t want to wear a Sixers uniform any longer. And that forced Morey to trade him to the Clippers without getting much in return. If it wasn’t for Tyrese Maxey stepping up after Harden’s departure, the Sixers might even have missed the playoffs. While Wallace acknowledged Harden’s abilities as a scorer, he had one major complaint from him, “Cause Harden to me, was not a team player. Yeah, he gets buckets, but he’s not a team player.”

And it looks like that impression has left quite a negative image of Harden in Wallace’s mind as he refused to see him as a winner despite a great individual career.
