Skip Bayless is one of the most popular sports analysts out there. Another thing he is famous for, arguably even more than being an analyst, is his critiquing of LeBron James. Pretty much at every turn. Though he has said that he does not hate the “King”, Skip isn’t the biggest fan of the whole greatest-player-of-all-time hype.

In his most recent tweet, Bayless is taking a dig at James once again. Unsurprisingly. This time he has hit it closer home, more specifically, Bron’s love for getting in early workouts in the gym.

LeBron James taunted for always being in “the lab”

Skip Bayless’ most recent tweet has got him nothing more than insults and taunts back. Bayless, this time gets into it with the Akron Hammer’s gym love. “Here’s what I don’t understand about LeBron: He’s always “in the lab”, always at the gym four hours early. Yet in 21 years his shooting has never significantly improved from 3 or the FT line. By his standards, he’s always been pretty sorry from both,” he says.

This got Skip tit-for-tat replies almost immediately from fans. But even they know that the 3-point shooting and free throws have always been James’ weakness. That is not to say he hasn’t tried his best to improve them. When he moved to the Heat, he trained with Ray Allen to improve his free throw percentage.

That did not bring much fruition. On his return to the Cavaliers, viewers and analysts were treated to at least 18 different varieties of free throw styles. But the 2016-17 season turned out to be not the best in terms of free throw shooting. And that’s putting it mildly.

According to StatMuse, Bron’s three-point shooting percentage is 34.5 in his career. Due to the difficulty of maneuvering past defenders, he has been relying on three-point shots lately. It could be the frequency of the shots, but last season’s stats show that James attempted a career-high 36.7%.

More recently, the last 5 games of the Western Conference Finals saw the King James with a stunning 38.7% of three-point attempts on 6.2 attempts a game. It is a work in progress, but he is getting there. But this does not affect his legacy one bit.

The larger-than-life legacy of King James

When you hear LeBron James and legacy, what immediately comes to mind is the greatest basketball player ever. Compared to the likes of Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar, a four-time champion, a brilliant two-way player and the list goes on. But James has created a legacy outside of the basketball world too.

Granted, it is closely intertwined with the NBA, but James ushered in an age of player-power. He tipped the scales of balance and tradition that the NBA reigned in tightly. LeBron James was an entity in himself. He was not affiliated with anyone, nor could anyone claim to own him.
