The Houston Rockets currently have a 15-13 record that puts them in the eighth spot in the Western Conference. The Rockets struggled a lot in the past years but were able to acquire young talent through draft picks. Now that very same talent is starting to pay off as the Rockets are winning games. But one player who may have taken a step back from his high production is Rockets guard, Jalen Green.

Green’s point production has taken a toll this year. But Tari Eason’s mother made sure to keep the 21-year-old’s hopes up. During one of the games, Tari Eason’s mother had a word with Green in the arena’s tunnels.

She said, I put my arms around him in the tunnel and asked him straight up. “How you doing? Cause I want the top and we can’t do it without you, do you know that?” He said “yes ma’am” so idgaf what y’all think! No one man has to be everything for us anymore. WE A UNIT NOW! And WE going UP!”

Green averaged 22.1 PPG in the 76 games he started last year. But so far, Green’s average is 16.7 PPG, a big drop from his previous number.

Can Green turn things around?

The Houston Rockets guard may be struggling this year so far, but luckily the rest of the team has been able to pick up the slack. Players like Alperen Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr. have upped their game so far this season. Not to mention the Rockets acquiring Fred VanVleet this offseason as well as Dillon Brooks. Brooks may not contribute much on offense, but he has been a big part of the team’s defense, night in and night out.

Jalen Green just needs to dust the rust off and keep his head up. The 6’4 guard is a talented frontcourt presence. His explosive finishing has put him in a lot of highlight reels, and his flashy dunks are always eye-catching. Let’s hope Green does not let this small struggling streak affect him and elevate his game back to his usual numbers, if not more.
