American sprint phenom Noah Lyles is scheduled to make his eagerly anticipated debut on August 31 during the Zurich Diamond League meeting. His victory at the Budapest 2023 World Athletics Championships earned him the title of uncontested sprint king. Lyles took home three gold medals and two world titles at the prestigious Championships. Furthermore, he even won the double sprint in both the 100- and 200-meter events. However, his take on the NBA ?World Champion? doesn’t seem to be doing so well in the basketball World.
Most recently, Noah Lyles became the subject of a public rant, with the NBA star trashing on him 13 times.

Noah Lyles lately addressed the media after winning the gold medal. He expressed dissatisfaction with what he considered insufficient funding and recognition for track and field athletes. The NBA was the target of his fury next. And he publicly questioned its usage of the term “world champions.”
Lyles couldn’t hide his annoyance as he questioned the veracity of NBA players referring to themselves as “world champions,” given the league’s predominance of American-based teams.??I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have world champion on their head,” Lyles bluntly stated. “World champion of what? The United States??
Following Lyles’ remarks, social media became a forum for debate on his reasons. Some fans contend that he used his platform to raise awareness of the issue and that his dissatisfaction with the under-appreciation of track and field players was justified. Others, though, saw his comments as a clever publicity stunt. However, De’Aaaron Fox doesn’t seem to be having it.

De’Aaron Fox hopped on Twitter to share his opinions on recent comments made by Noah Lyles. Fox wrote, “Why bro care so much?” in a direct but slightly puzzled tone. The tweet went viral. However, De’Aaron Fox’s rant didn’t end here. He quote-tweeted the replies to his tweet.

A fan questioned why Lyles couldn’t express his views, which he quote-tweeted. He wrote, “I found it fun that he uses the term ?what hurts me most? it?s just funny. not that serious big dawg.” Fox then received a reply under that tweet asking for his perspective on whether a gold medal at the Olympics or an NBA title matters more. He replied that he never cared about playing in the Olympics. However, it could change in the future. A fan proceeded to call him out by saying that he should respect the 3x champion. He replied that while he doesn’t find Lyles’ opinion to be wrong, he didn’t understand why the NBA was dragged into this.
Fox was blunt when replying to a fan who took a dig at the Sacramento Kings. He, however, finds it funny that Noah Lyles’s statement has resonated with an audience. Fox quote-tweeted a tweet by Trey Lyles, writing, “Well the best way to grow T&F (which is the question that was asked) is to talk about the NBA.”
