Stephen Curry turns 36 today! And of course, Ayesha Curry, who has been a part of his journey for over two decades now, was among the first to extend her wishes. Ayesha shared a heartfelt Instagram story featuring a candid video of the Chef starting his day with a stack of pancakes and wrote, “I just love him so much…my birthday kinggggggg.” When asked how he feels about turning 36, in typical Curry fashion, the Golden State Warriors guard playfully replied, “I’m just trying to eat my tomatoes” in an animated voice.

The Irish Wish actress then shared some adorable snapshots of the couple on Instagram with a touching caption. “It’s my baby’s birthday!!!!!!!! Another trip around the sun. I am so grateful for every part of him. He is the coolest, most hardworking, and smart person I’ve ever met. The sense of humor is just chefs kiss. This 36th year of his is sure to be nothing short of epic. Shouting all of my love from the Instagram mountain top. 🥰🥰🥰 the happiest of happy birthdays to my love,” wrote Ayesha.

Ayesha and Stephen Curry met at a church in North Carolina when they were just teenagers in 2003. While they were both fond of each other from a young age, it wasn’t until they reconnected years later, in 2008, that the sparks started flying. Their relationship quickly blossomed into something more serious, culminating in their marriage on July 30, 2011. They are now parents to three wonderful children, Riley, 11, and Ryan, 8, and son Canon, 5, and have a fourth baby on the way. Earlier this month, the couple announced their fourth pregnancy on the cover of Sweet July Magazine, the first digital issue that covers Ayesha’s skincare line, Sweet July Skin.

While promoting his second children’s book, Stephen Curry hinted at a potential foray into politics as a means to bring about the “meaningful change” he envisions. When CBS News national correspondent Jericka Duncan asked whether a run for president might be on the cards post-retirement, the Baby-Faced Assassin answered, “Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can, so if that’s the way to do it, then—I’m not going to say the presidency—but if politics is the way that you can create meaningful change … [I’m not ruling it out.]” However, while he has mentioned his potential career in politics, whether he’ll run for the Oval Office is still unclear.

More immediately, his team needs him. Stephen Curry sustained an ankle sprain in the team’s 125-122 loss to the Chicago Bulls last Thursday at Chase Center. His three-game absence has contributed to the Warriors’ disappointing 1-5 record in the six games he has missed this season. The most recent defeat came at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, as the Luka Doncic-led team held the Warriors to just 99 points in Curry’s absence. However, the team is expecting to get back into the winning column, as they are expecting the two-time NBA MVP to return when they play the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
