Stephen Curry met his former teammate Jordan Poole tonight and it wasn’t a cheerful reunion. Saturday’s game against the Wizards was a shot at turning things around and starting a win streak. Despite being on an eight-game losing streak, the Wizards still came out swinging. They finished the first quarter ahead, 29-25, with Jordan Poole and rookie Bub Carrington both contributing eight points.
Curry wasn’t quite on his game at first. He scored just three points in the opening quarter but quickly found his rhythm in the second. He dropped 10 points in the next 12 minutes, but the Wizards still outpaced the Warriors by three points. Poole’s 15 points helped Washington hold a 60-53 lead heading into halftime.
But something happened in the 4th quarter which sank the Warriors fans’ hearts. Poole was driving in for a layup, and Curry, being Curry, stepped up to contest the shot in the paint. The Splash Bro blocked it, no problem, but here’s where things got messy. The former Warrior crashed to the floor, and as the two tangled up, Curry tweaked his left ankle.

Steph appeared to really hurt his left ankle late in the game. He was seen limping and testing it on the bench afterward. Not long after, he made his way to the locker room, still limping pretty noticeably.
And if that wasn’t enough, Draymond Green also went down with an injury. He’s back on the bench in sweats but limping on his left calf too. It’s tough for the Bay with both of these key players dealing with injuries tonight. Dub Nation is worried about their superstar.
Bay Area faithful knows another injury for Stephen Curry would mean the Warriors’ season is over
“Praying for you goat…🙏🙏🙏” wrote one fan. The Steve Kerr-led army hasn’t been as lethal as they used to be. They are sitting in 11th position, getting back to .500 after today’s win. And if Curry gets injured again, then it’s honestly curtains, for good.
Another fan wrote, “Thought it was the knee Khalas thought the season was over”. Remember, the last time Curry dealt with an injury of that magnitude—bilateral knee tendinitis—it kept him sidelined for quite a few games, and we all saw how that affected the team’s rhythm.
The thought of the season being over, especially for someone who’s such a key player, would’ve hit hard not just for Curry, but for the Warriors and their fan base. Weirdly, the Splash Bro is scaringly close to losing his All-NBA award eligibility, right after Luka Doncic already has. What’s the similarity between them? Both are fan favorites and drivers of their teams.
Some fans blamed Poole for the incident.
One wrote, “Kinda dirty play by JP. He hooked Steph’s ankle and intentionally rolled on him.” While there’s no clear evidence that Jordan meant to hurt Curry, the way his body ended up near the sharpshooter’s ankle does make you question the sequence of events.
In high-intensity moments like that, sometimes players get caught up in the heat of the game, and the aggression of a contested shot can lead to unintentional contact. But still very suspicious.
Another netizen compared this with the 2012 season. “2012 warriors all over again. It’s over” they wrote. Looking back at that year, GSW showed a lot of promise, finishing with a 47–35 record and clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2007.
But as we all know, the Bay had their share of setbacks, including injuries to key players like Brandon Rush and Andrew Bogut, which ultimately badly hurt their postseason push.

One fan remained optimistic. “I mean he’s standing on it rn,” they wrote. Well, what do you know, this fan might be right after all! After the game, Steve Kerr gave a positive update on the injury. “Steph just told me he doesn’t think it’s serious,” he said.
A breath of fresh air, some may say, and it looks like the Warriors season can be salvaged after all. Curry wouldn’t want to call it a day with just 4 rings in the bag, would he?
