The L.A. Clippers, with Kawhi Leonard, took another crack at the Timberwolves on Monday. Hoping to better their 0-2 season series record but fell short. The Klaw had 8 points and 2 assists in the loss. However, now news is coming in that the veteran will once again be unavailable for the upcoming fixtures.
It’s not due to his injury issues but for an emotional reason. NBA Insider Chris Haynes reported that the Clippers star will be stepping away from the team to be with his family amid the Los Angeles area wildfires. This came after multiple wildfires were burning out of control in both the east and west sides of the city.

One fan wrote, “Hope his fams ok…He’s the king of getting out of work” admiring his gesture to leave work and tend his family at a time like this. At the same time, one more fan commented “Fam comes first.” suggesting Leonard is right to leave the Clippers and help his family when they certainly need him to be around.
However, not all fans are on the same page with a fan writing, “No judgment but I hope that everyone on the team that has family in the same situation is given that option.” giving another perspective on the matter. One more fan pointed out the fact that after returning from such a long absence it’s sad to see Leonard once again leave the team.
He wrote, “Dang he just got back to playing too” indicating he’s gutted to see the veteran leave. Well, while people seem to have different opinions on the matter it’s hard to overlook the fact that at a time like this family comes first. And that’s exactly what Leonard has done. We wish everyone affected by the wildfires remains safe including the NBA star’s family and that he makes his return soon after tending to his close ones.
