“This is the worst superstar. I can make a case this is the worst superstar in the history of sports. He is a nightmare,” said Stephen A. Smith regarding Kawhi Leonard. You see, you make it to the NBA after all the hard work. For some, it’s just a basketball game. For others, it’s a platform to show their identity. And, Stephen A. Smith and Draymond Green go in close quarters examining Kawhi Leonard, the character!

In the latest episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis’, Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets arrived on the show to discuss his NBA career so far. All in all, it became a promising episode as Davis and Green gave Cam some guidance regarding his marketability. Remember five months back when the sports analyst Stephen A. went all in for Kawhi?

“He makes no effort to promote the game, to promote his team, to promote the NBA brand. Zero. Do y’all know his New Balance commercials? You got little kids talkin’, cuz he won’t talk. What do you think about that? I got a commercial that I sign to endorse your product and I won’t even speak,” mentioned Stephen A. Smith about the personality of Kawhi Leonard.

Nobody can question his ability on the court. But off it, he gives out as a shy guy, minding his own business and doing all the talking on the court.

Well, two NBA titles and two MVPS make him an icon; especially, the title run with the Toronto Raptors.

Anyhow, Green communicated with Cam Thomas to speak about Kawhi when he first signed with New Balance, a billion-dollar sports goods company. “I love Kawhi Leonard. He is a special talent. Watching him grow in the league. I think I came a year after Kawhi played against him in some great battle. Kawhi Leonard has made a bunch of money. Kawhi Leonard is a star. He’s never been a superstar because he doesn’t speak. You know what I’m saying? When he first signed with New Balance…”

The LA Clippers signed a contract worth $175 million over four years. On average, he will earn over $44 million yearly for his on-court play. Baron Davis knew he got a solid deal. “He got a hell of a brand… He got a brand by not speaking.” Now this is where Draymond wants Cam to focus on.

“No one really was catching on to Kawhi, right? He signs with New Balance and with his first commercial, they do kind of the little penny thing. It’s two people arguing and it’s not Kawhi’s voice right? They found one moment to capitalize on. They found his laugh,” said Green. Thinking about his laugh makes people smile inside.

In all fairness, his laugh cracks up a lot of people, including Kevin Hart, who makes people laugh. He had the last laugh when the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship. During the victory parade, Kawhi mocked the laugh and is often known as NBA’s ‘Funny Guy’.

“And now, he’s a funny guy. Since he became the funny guy, now Kawhi is more talked about than ever. He’s more known than ever. And he’s played less since then. But he’s the funny guy. You see, what I’m saying,” concluded Draymond. It’s true. Significantly, nobody’s got issues with Kawhi even if he plays fewer games. If it’s other players, you get roasted on social media.
