A belief has rooted itself within the Warriors camp this season. Be it Steve Kerr, Draymond Green, or anyone else, no matter who was asked, they have all said the same thing. And the encouraging aspect is that it has been maintained even in the absence of Stephen Curry. So what exactly is that feeling in the Dubs camp? Quoting Kerr, we can easily say, they have the “deepest roster” this season compared to recent years. And that certainly shows with Buddy Hield firing game after game. But when it comes to shooting 3s, there’s only one King in the Bay Area and that’s Stephen Curry.
Before tonight’s match-up against the Wizards, the Warriors were practicing their shots. Suddenly, an impromptu three-point shooting contest broke out between Curry and Buddy Hield. Two of the best 3-point shooters of the league facing off is a scene from the All-Star weekend but a near-empty arena did the job this time. Hield took his shot, but the ball hit the rim and bounced out. Then, came the Golden State leader’s turn. Curry shot the ball from the deep to show his new on-court buddy how he does it with ease.

The 31-year-old swingman might have missed his shot in the friendly competition, but he splashed those when it mattered. In his six appearances so far in the regular season, Hield maintained an impressive 51.7% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc. And here’s a trivia, that is higher than his FG percentage (51.6). Hield’s excellent shot making even had Curry hyped on the bench, who was certainly having those Klay Thompson flashbacks in his mind. But it is almost time for Curry to return to court and stat pad his assist counts playing with Buddy.
Stephen Curry showing encouraging signs ahead of Wizards game
On October 27, the Warriors faced a blow in the final quarter against the Clippers when, with under eight minutes remaining, Stephen Curry was sidelined due to a left ankle injury. The MRI revealed a peroneal strain, and as a result, Curry was out for the next three games. During his absence, the aforementioned Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga showed the exact depth this Dubs team has.

Although the Warriors managed to secure victories in all those games during his absence, fans eagerly awaited Curry’s return. Finally, there may be good news for the team and their fanbase, as the point guard is now listed as questionable on the injury report for tonight’s clash.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Stephen Curry's dominance in three-point shooting unmatched, even with a 'deepest roster' claim?
Have an interesting take?
Pre-game footages are showing promising signs as Curry is seen participating in Monday’s optional shooting drills. His movement has also looked clean enough, showing encouraging signs. Given the current situation, taking caution with Curry against the underwhelming Wizards side makes sense. But you never know, the 3 chugging maniac might just suit up to get back on the court to humble the opponents this time.
