The Damian Lillard trade saga must be resolved quickly because if it lingers on, then it could hamper the Blazers’ preparation for the season. Dame has to play for the Blazers if not traded because the league would penalize any franchises that rest their star players.

The Raptors are seriously interested in Dame, and this could be an enormous setback for the Heat. But the uncertainty surrounding Raptors’ interest is Dame’s willingness to join them. He has made it very clear that his preferred destination is South Beach.
