After losing the first two East Finals games at MSG, the Knicks needed their superstars to step up in Indiana to keep this series alive. All eyes were on Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson heading into Sunday’s Game 3. Sure enough, the duo answered the call. While JB dropped a solid 23-point performance, KAT took over in the final quarter to lead the New York team to victory.

Initially, Towns struggled to find his rhythm, with just four points in the first three quarters. But he delivered when it mattered the most. He scored 20 points in the final period to erase the Knicks’ twenty-point deficit, giving them much needed life by bringing the series to 2-1. Realizing how lethal KAT can be, Pacers fans knew heading into tonight’s Game 4 that they needed to get him off his game by any means necessary. And one courtside fan took an unusual approach, hoping to accomplish that goal.

During the live TNT broadcast, a woman sitting courtside could be heard heckling Towns by meowing at him. “Meow! Meow! Meow!” She yelled, while KAT drove to the basket. Obviously, a taunt to the Knicks Center’s nickname. Turns out, the woman adopted this strategy for the entire first half, as she made that sound every time Towns went to the free throw line.

Unfortunately for the Pacers, the tactic did not do any damage to KAT’s form. He dropped 14 points in the first half on 4 of 5 shooting, much better than his Sunday’s first half performance. However, the Indiana team managed to maintain a five-point lead at the half, thanks to Tyrese Haliburton’s near triple-double performance, with 20 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds. But the Pacers cannot take their foot off the gas just yet.

Can Karl-Anthony Towns and Co. showcase their “never-say-die” attitude once again amid risk of 3-1 deficit?

On Sunday, it took a dominant fourth quarter performance from KAT to beat the Pacers at home. Their epic comeback truly showcased their willingness to fight, which even Towns pointed out postgame, “It’s a true test when you’re down 20-plus. Tonight was the kind of night where he had to have that never-say-die attitude.” Of course, Knicks are not a team that gives up easily.

What’s your perspective on:

Did the Pacers fan's 'meow' strategy actually rattle KAT, or did it fuel his fire?

Have an interesting take?

During these playoffs, they have made three historic 20-point comebacks. “All of us are just trying to do whatever it takes to win, get ourselves back in the game. We wanted to put ourselves in a position to where at the end of the game we found ourselves with a chance of winning.” Towns said following Sunday’s win. So, even though the Pacers are five points ahead at the half in Game 4, they cannot lose focus because the Knicks have some of the best closers in the league to muscle a comeback.

Of course, Brunson is the Clutch Player of the Year, and Towns showed in Game 3 what he is capable of during crunch time. A win tonight will level the series and shift the momentum in the Knicks’ favor as they head back to New York for the next game. So, Tyrese Haliburton and Co. need to keep the same focus they did in the first half to ensure victory and take a commanding 3-1 lead. Do you think they can do it?
