Sunday at the Toyota Center missed a spark. The Rockets brought the heat early in Game 1, but it fizzled fast. Once the Butler-Curry duo locked in, there was no turning back. Experience trumped energy. Kerr’s seasoned squad outplayed Udoka’s rising crew. The message?

The Warriors came ready. Now, it might be time for Houston to shake things up. Maybe even roll the dice on Trae Young. Houston’s own, DeMarcus Cousins, has an idea for the franchise, and that is to add some experience and force on the roster. However, this was only Game 1. But in case the Rockets don’t make it, then what’s that one thing they’re missing?

Sharing his thoughts on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, the 34-year-old said, “I think they actually have a really good problem on their hands. They obviously have their foundational pieces in Sengun, Thompson, and I would even keep a guy like Dillon Brooks. I think those types of guys are winning players and championship-caliber guys. But they have the assets. They have the pieces to move. They can go get two superstars to add to that starting lineup.” Ime Udoka has created a core around Alperen Sengun, Dillon Brooks, and Amen Thompson. Despite that, the team is lacking experience.

“Why not go get a Trae Young or a Ja Morant to run your point?” Boogie asked. “And then add a guy like Kevin Durant. You easily move into a top-three team in the West. You have a chance at competing in the West. And now you have championship aspirations. So I think Houston’s in a good spot. It’s not always a bad thing to be young and inexperienced and have assets. And like I said earlier, they have a good problem on their hands.”

Now, how to go about having Trae Young move from the Atlanta Hawks to the Rockets? Well, Chandler Parsons seems to have a solution. “To bring in a Kevin Durant or Ja Morant or Trae Young like that, you’re probably going to have to get off Jalen Green,” he chipped in. Well, this isn’t the first time that the 23-year-old shooting guard, Jalen Green, has been named in a trade conversation. The $106 million star seems to be a candidate that the Rockets might consider trading to rebuild the team. “I would think he’s the one that has to go as part of that package with Jabari Smith, with Reed Sheppard,” Parsons further added.

Most importantly, Houston’s in a strong position with young talent and valuable assets. Adding stars like Durant, Morant, or Trae could fast-track their growth through high-stakes basketball. Competing for titles fuels development, not stunts it. And while renovation is in sight, the Atlanta Hawks made a massive decision for their front office. A move for the future? Probably.

Should the Rockets trade Jalen Green for Trae Young to finally become a top contender?
