The Los Angeles Lakers are set to face the Phoenix Suns in their first game on the road this season. The two teams face each other once again in the space of three days after Anthony Davis put up a spectacular performance scoring 35 points and ensuring his side’s win 123-116 on Saturday. Since that meeting, the Lakers have defeated the Kings maintaining their perfect start to the season.
On the other hand, the Suns marked their first home game with a victory against the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Doncic’s 40-point effort was not enough to get past the Suns who got the win thanks to Kevin Durant‘s 31 and Devin Booker’s 21 points. They have also started the season on a strong footing with an opening-day victory against the LA Clippers in overtime.

The Lakers overturned a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter going on a crazy 21-0 scoring run to win the game against the Kings, the other being the Oklahoma City Thunder. LeBron James and Davis are the ones grabbing all the headlines as they together netted 30 points in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback. They also did a similar comeback against the Suns as well, when they were trailing 61-52 at halftime. Eventually, they led by 14 points in the last quarter.
JJ Redick’s side is now only one of the two teams having a perfect start to the season in the Western Conference. The new Lakers HC will look to leave a mark in his first season after a disappointing 2023-24 campaign. Both the sides have majority of their starters available for selection however let’s take a look at the injury reports before the clash.

While the Phoenix Suns performed impressively against the Mavericks in their first home game, the Lakers present a much tougher challenge for Kevin Durant’s team. Under new head coach JJ Redick, the Lakers have been excelling, with LeBron and Anthony Davis forming a formidable partnership. There’s no doubt that Redick’s squad enters the Footprint Center as the favorites. However, the Suns won’t go down without a fight, as KD and Booker possess the talent to pull off an upset on any given day. It promises to be an exciting matchup.
