Game 4 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns was the last chance for the latter team to avoid getting eliminated from the tournament. Knowing the high stakes that awaited them, some tension amongst the players was expected to be present. However, the pressure to do well has now caused player Bradley Beal and coach Frank Vogel, members of the same team, to develop a cold attitude during the course of the game.
During the 3 quarter, as the Timberwolves led by a score of 76-75, onlookers at the Footprint Center in Arizona caught a glimpse of Beal making his rounds of the court. As he approached Vogel, the latter attempted to raise his hand in order to exchange a greeting with his player. However, Beal waved the coach off and proceeded to run ahead. Talk about an awkward moment!

The incident took place after the coach benched the player during the third quarter. According to Phoenix Sports writer Gerald Bourguet, Beal was also reportedly yelling at Vogel in the midst of a timeout that was called during the course of the game. The aftermath of that argument may or may not be the reason why he slapped Vogel’s hand away.
Both Bradley Beal and Frank Vogel are dealing with their own issues. Despite their success in the regular season, the coach is reportedly coming under scrutiny for establishing a 0-3 win record against the Timberwolves. Plus, it doesn’t help that renowned reporter Adrian Wojnarowski recently highlighted the growing rumors that “Frank Vogel’s job is in peril”. Beal, on the other hand, had been struggling to perform as well as he did during the regular season. By the time the game concluded, the player had been on the court for 31 minutes but could only score 9 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists.
Game 4 ended with the Phoenix Suns losing by a score of 116-122. Having lost four consecutive playoff games, the franchise’s hope of going to the next stage of the tournament is now gone.
Despite rumors of an alleged sour relationship, Bradley Beal had earlier assured that he and Frank Vogel are “Good”
