The Phoenix Suns were finally successful in getting their Big 3 on the floor last night. Facing the Brooklyn Nets yesterday, it was obvious Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker need to work on a few things together. After all, it was their first time playing together. The Nets beat the Suns 116-112.
Former Phoenix players, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson carried Brooklyn over the edge against the Suns’ lethal trio. The crowd couldn’t forget their contribution to the 2021 Suns team and welcomed them with a lengthy ovation during a tribute video before the game.

With the kind of injury records the Suns’ trio have, many are concerned if the three will be present for the Knicks clash on Friday. The latest update shows that those fears can be dismissed.

The Suns had to delay their Big 3 debut mainly due to the injuries their top three have been facing. Particularly Beal. Having played just five games this season, Bradley was the longest prey of the injury this season. While Devin Booker has also missed a few games, KD has remained a constant for the larger part of the season.
The 35-year-old veteran has proved his single-handed determination in seeing Phoenix through to the end. Nicknamed ‘Slim Reaper’ for a reason, there hasn’t been a player that has defended him alone. Stephen Curry might have been the closest anyone’s gotten to that milestone.
How Beal’s return sealed the proverbial cracks
There’s no argument about the fact that Beal is deadly on offense. The 6’4 guard is a nightmare for any defender. With his lightning speed and unpredictable moves, Beal’s opponents have to constantly chase him if they have any hopes of stopping or at least slowing him down.

And this is exactly what the Suns have been missing on-court. With all attention on Booker defensively, it has been a nightmare for him. But with Beal’s return, the playfield has evened out. Not to mention, their opponents have a hard time predicting their moves.

But the real headache is how Frank Vogel can distribute such heavy talents equally over the four quarters. With Beal still under a minutes restriction, he has to be careful in dividing game time. While the three must get enough time individually, it’s also important to build the trio’s chemistry.
Vogel is all too aware of what bad luck or injuries can do to a team. With that in mind, the Suns’ coach has a tough task ahead of him.
Now that the Suns have their Big 3 back, how do you think their season will shape up to be?
