Speaking about his woes, a disappointed KD says, “Nobody wants to call me great. They want to call me all these other words: Insecure, miserable, bad teammate. That’s what’s going to get [people] paid for the articles they write. They can’t write, ‘KD is such a student of the game’ or ‘He’s a great teammate’ or ‘He loves basketball.’ Nobody wants to hear that s— when it comes to me.” The 10X All-NBA star has been the victim of scrutiny and criticism, which, for the most part, overshadows his accomplishments.

KD is exhausted by false stories spread about him and people tending to see profound significance attached to each of his emotions or reactions. He claims that rather than approaching him and asking, “Hey, what do you think?” people directly resort to reading his body language. He says, “Perhaps I was angry with myself,” and didn’t mean anything else by it. With everything that he has contributed to the game, KD believes that he at least deserves to be asked what he meant. He finds it unfortunate that people keep attempting to stir up controversy around his name.

KD sets the record straight
