There has been a lot of drama this season in the Western Conference. From James Harden?s abysmal start in Los Angeles to Draymond Green?s hefty suspension following the Warriors-Timberwolves scuffle, these have been the most talked about teams in the West. But there is one team that is flying under the radar and probably not getting the recognition they deserve despite their amazing start to the season. The Dallas Mavericks are 9-3 to start the season and are currently 3rd in the Western Conference standings.

Addressing the issue of why the Mavericks are not getting talked about more, a former NBA executive compared the superstar duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to Miami?s Big-3 and praised them for their underrated start to the season.

Luka Doncic and Co. failed to make the playoffs last season despite adding Kyrie Irving to their roster in February. That was probably because Kyrie did not get enough time to build chemistry with his new teammates, and Dallas was already a sinking ship before he arrived. However, it looks like Luka and Kyrie have figured out how to play together this season. Dallas is off to a great start, led by their two superstars. Former NBA executive Amin Elhassan talked about the Dallas Mavericks’ underrated start to the season on Oddball with Amin Elhassan and Charlotte Wilder, ?I think people want them to fail.?

Amin believes people do not want the Mavericks to succeed because they have two highly skilled ball-dominant players, Kyrie and Luka. ?We want there to be some sort of difficulty in the same way that people rooted against the Big-3 in Miami,? Amin added. When LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh joined forces in Miami in 2010, they got booed in every arena they went to. It is difficult for people to digest the collaboration of successful superstars who assemble to win a Championship.

Not getting enough recognition might be the exact thing that the Dallas Mavericks need to win it all this year. It has been a long time since all eyes were not on Kyrie Irving, and he is taking advantage of this situation by balling out in Dallas. Uncle Drew is averaging 22.3 points and 6.7 assists this season, and he is playing drama-free basketball after a long time.
