LeBron James has always been a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and once again, he was all in as they dominated on the field. From the get-go, the Buckeyes were firing on all cylinders. Jeremiah Smith wasted no time, catching a 45-yard pass for a touchdown just one minute into the first quarter.

Quarterback Will Howard was on point, setting up that early score and connecting with wide receiver Emeka Egbuka a few minutes later to extend Ohio State’s lead to 14-0. And let me tell you, the Buckeyes weren’t stopping there. By the time the third quarter rolled around, Ohio State was firmly in control, up 41-15. Coach Ryan Day had his team locked in, and they showed zero signs of letting up.

And in true Buckeyes fan fashion, the King took to X to celebrate his state team’s win in the Rose Bowl. LeBron tweeted, “O-H!!!! @OhioStateFB🌰”. Let me explain, when you’re a Buckeyes fan, there’s no escaping the chant. Someone yells, “O-H,” and you instantly have to shout back, “I-O!” It’s like an unwritten rule.

It’s being followed on X as well. Plenty of fans replied to the King’s chant.

Fans join in on the tradition, complete LeBron James’ chant

One fan replied with exactly that, “I-O!!!!”. It’s one of those moments that just brings you into the fold, right? You hear it, and you can’t help but join in. This fan completed the four-letter chant of the Buckeyes. For a fan, it’s more than just a chant. It’s a symbol of the energy they’ve shared through the highs and lows.

A former football player also tweeted, “I-O!!😂😂 Wanna hit the semis together???”. The world is not ready for LeBron’s domination in football. During high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary, LeBron was a standout wide receiver on the football team, and many believe he could have played at the collegiate level had he chosen that path instead of basketball.

How different history would’ve been if Bron decided to play football?

A netizen decided to gatekeep Ohio State’s fandom. They wrote, “You didn’t even go there. Embarrassing”. Welp little do they know Jim Tressel, Ohio State’s iconic football coach, revealed on the “It’s All About the Team” podcast that he tried to recruit James when he was a teenager.

In fact, Tressel saw James as a perfect fit for the team, describing him as a “beast” and a “great wide receiver.” According to Tressel, LeBron had everything — speed, toughness, and natural ability that made him a standout football player.

Someone also tried to reason with the King. “How about your kid going there to hoop? ” they tweeted. Who’s gonna tell him? Bryce James just announced his commitment to the University of Arizona. Then there’s Bronny James, LeBron’s older son, who made headlines of his own when he committed to USC.

Maybe Zhuri could go there.

“Why do you watch football?” tweeted another fan. As we have established, he could’ve been a great football player, but don’t worry, as LeBron said he loves the NFL, the NBA is where his heart at.
