The Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans Pelicans have had a steady run of games since the season opener. The Pelicans have lost just one game and the Hawks are on a three-game winning streak. They are hoping to continue that. So far, it looks the New Orleans has got the lead. Even though Trey Murphy of the Pelicans is not fit enough to play, he certainly knows how to be part of the highlights.

Murphy has joined the commentary section for tonight’s game, and it’s left the crowd and the internet in splits. Let’s take a look at how he’s doing, and why the fans love it.

Trey’s contribution to encouraging his teammates is a sweet gesture. But it has pretty much got Twitter abuzz with hilarious reactions. CJ McCollum and Jonas Valančiūnas’ drive to the basket got the most attention, thanks to Murphy.

One user gives Murphy props for wanting to bring everyone’s attention to the 3-pointers his team attempts.

Another user is sure that Trey wanted to “call this game”.

A hardcore Murphy fan is positive about his media career in the long run.

Yet another user can’t help but point out Trey’s sweet personality.

We have finally got Trey’s co-commentator, Joel Meyers reminding everyone of his nickname “Trigga Trey”. And it looks like Murphy is glad Meyers used “the “A” and not the other one.”

It won’t be the first time Trey Murphy is joining these two for a quick broadcasting session. During the Pelicans pregame broadcast in February, Murphy was seen taking up quality screen time.

Clearly, Murphy loves to be in front of the camera and out there sharing his views and opinions. The fun fact – fans love him for this. Well, even though Trey’s knee injury is keeping him out of action, it’s good to see him up and about. It won’t be long before we see him on the court as well.

How the Pelicans’ Trey Murphy bloomed late

The Pelicans’ trump card is Zion Williamson, the unexpectedly agile forward and one of the best in-game dunkers. Unfortunately, he is very susceptible to injuries. The 2022-23 season was a terrible one, except for one good thing. The Pelicans’ small forward, Trey Murphy, came out of the shadows to take the team forward.

His skills on the court left even Luka Doncic and co. stunned as the Pelicans got one over them. Without Williamson on the court. The last season also saw him healthy for the major part, and with Ingram and Williamson sidelined a lot of times, Murphy was in the starting lineup.
