The Clippers emerged victorious, 112-102, in today’s showdown against the Chicago Bulls. But even after chipping in 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists as an All-Star, forward Paul George doesn’t believe spending 24 hours in the gym is the only way to stay engaged with basketball. That secret, according to George in his post-game interview, lies partly in his podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George”.

The interviewer asked PG about his podcast which he’s been doing for a year now and how some people may think that it may affect his gameplay, to which he replied, “Probably got me more engaged in what’s going on around the league and in basketball in general just because of the knowledge I wanna have while on the show and creating content.”

George elaborated on the therapeutic nature of sharing his experiences, saying, “I’ve mentioned it before, it’s therapeutic to get to talk about experiences and games and relaying and reliving situations...” George continued, “I know people think I should be in the gym 24 hours out of the day but no one does that. I don’t care who the greats are, they’ve all had things outside of basketball and so I found the passion in the media space and it’s been working.

George started Podcast P in 2023 where PG along with two of his best friends Jackie Long and Dallas Rutherford provide an “Entourage-style” glimpse into the life of an NBA star and all things basketball-related.

Redemption Season for Paul George & Co

Paul George led the Clippers in scoring with 22 points, narrowly missing a double-double with his 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Kawhi Leonard chipped in with 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. The victory came despite the continued absence of Russell Westbrook, sidelined for the 4th consecutive game.

James Harden‘s scoring may not have been eye-catching (14 points), but his all-around performance was undeniable. This marked his second triple-double of the season, a feat that shot him into eighth place on the all-time leaderboard for that category. His performance ties him with Nikola Jokić for third-most games this season with 10+ assists and one or fewer turnovers (7). Only Tyrese Haliburton (13), Fred VanVleet (8), and Chris Paul (8) have crossed that mark.

The Los Angeles Clippers (+525) are emerging as legit championship contenders. While having elite talent in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, they haven’t been able to translate that into postseason success. The 2020 NBA playoffs were the only instance where both superstars were healthy for a full playoff run with the Clippers. They reached the Western Conference Finals in 2021 but were forced to go through the playoffs without Leonard due to an injury that sidelined him for the entire 2021-22 season. Last year, George missed the entire playoffs, and Leonard only managed two games. But this year has been different.
