Will Paul George's return to LA spark nostalgia or resentment among Clippers fans?

The Philadelphia 76ers are on their way to the Intuit Dome, bringing Paul George back to LA. Though no longer the city’s favorite hero, he is bound to find playing against his former team a thrilling moment. The Clippers, however, are eagerly awaiting his return. After five unforgettable seasons, PG8 is back, but this time in a different jersey. Special tributes are in store for the player who once reigned as PG13 in LA.

Reports suggest there will be a special tribute video from highlights of all five sessions Paul George has been in with his ex-team. But, is there a defining Clippers moment? Speaking on Run It Back on FanDuel TV, Lou Williams said: “No. But he [Paul George] should be celebrated. He should be honored tonight. In his short time, he changed culture. He changed the way that people looked at the Clippers and the fan base as a whole.”

Clippers star is optimistic about the team without Paul George

Kawhi Leonard finds himself without his longtime teammate Paul George in the 2024/25 NBA Season. As the Clippers maneuver through this massive transformation, the former Finals MVP touches upon the point of being a star player less this season. Currently, LA finds itself back to a two-star team formation. With only James Harden and Kawhi Leonard as what you’d call ‘big names’. However, the Clippers have a strong cast of supporting players who are doing a good job so far.

While speaking of the Clippers situation and PG’s absence, the Klaw was nothing but optimistic about the team and their progress. “You don’t need that many stars to win,” Leonard told ESPN. “It’s about the amount of people you have around you. You need talent. If it’s three superstars, you still need those role players or piece players within that team to make you win a championship, even if it’s two or one [star] player.” So, Kawhi is confident that the Clippers wouldn’t be fine even with PG13.
