After the Philadelphia 76ers got eliminated from the playoffs by the New York Knicks, the need for definitive modification to the team arose. However, the rumor cycle could not hold itself from rotation. Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George was the first name that spread throughout the NBA community. But the possibilities are not over for the Sixers. LeBron James is also a go-to option for Phillys, considering his present circumstances. Though Paul George is five years younger than LeBron, the possibility of the latter landing the contract might be high, as per NBA analyst Chris Broussard.

While discussing the Sixers‘ choices on ‘The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker show, Broussard shared, “If I were the Sixers and I could get LeBron, I would go for him over Paul George.” Chris cleared his priority between the two for the Sixers. However, the NBA analyst explained his opinion by further stating the reason, “Paul George is as injury prone as LeBron is at this stage of their careers. And I think …LeBron is still better than Paul George, like right now.” Though Chris was not sure about the match-up three years afterward, for now, his first choice is LeBron for the Sixers roster.

Chris also pointed out the consistency with which LeBron played this year in comparison to PG this year. Despite being older than George, LeBron played 71 games, while the former played 74 games. But it was not just the consistency, Broussard also highlighted the Joel Embiid factor for the Philadelphia 76ers. Though the center is just 30 years old, he “seems to have the body of a 40-year-old,” as per Chris. Apparently, the Sixers will need a quick win rather than waiting long. Therefore, LeBron is the best choice, considering his longing for the Championship title.

Moreover, the Sixers do not have the upper hand in the case of Paul George. In the end, the Sixers could be willing to offer PG four years, $212,205,000, while the Clips can offer full-scale max, making $221,088,000 for four years. The difference is only $8.88M.

If LeBron is too eager to win the Championship title, the Sixers might land him in the Eastern Conference with Embiid and Maxey. Moreover, they have the ability to create a $65 million cap space. The potential free agents that the Sixers are eyeing include OG Anunoby, Jimmy Butler, Zach LaVine, and Brandon Ingram. However, the Los Angeles Lakers might not lose LeBron so easily. Their front office will try everything to retire King James in the purple and gold jerseys.

Yet the Sixers have a chance of being able to spend a legit contender for the trade. The Lakers are already doing everything in their power to include elements in the team, according to LeBron. Another step for the purple and gold jerseys is taking care of Bronny James. If all the pieces get set in their place, it will be a grueling task for the Sixers to lure LeBron then.

Overall, the chances of LeBron’s trade are low, considering his recent $100 million asset in LA. Even if LeBron becomes a free agent, it is not confirmed that he will go to Philly. It is a far-fetched prediction and just a possibility for now. Till its confirmation, watch out for what Shaq’s ex-agent, Leonard Armato, had to say about the marketing genius through this video.
