Another season, another first-round series loss for the Milwaukee Bucks. Things can’t continue in the same manner. After acquiring Damian Lillard, Malik Beasley, and Patrick Beverley this season, many believed the Bucks to be a legitimate title contender. However, they haven’t lived up to those lofty expectations, and their premature exit from the playoffs further emphasizes that point. It’s safe to suggest that everyone associated with the Bucks organization would be gutted due to their horrid performances. And one player let those feelings get the best of him.
Following their Game 6 defeat to the Pacers, reporters and journalists gathered inside the Bucks’ locker room to interview Patrick Beverley. He wasn’t in the best of moods to begin with, but what Pat Bev did next surprised everyone in that locker room. Beverley didn’t give ESPN’s Malinda Adams the opportunity to interview him just because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.
Patrick Beverley wouldn’t let non-subscribers to his podcast interview him in the locker room postgame.
Pat: “You subscribed to my pod?”
Reporter: “I do not.”
Pat: “You can’t interview me then.”

Pat Bev’s behavior has sent shockwaves throughout the basketball community. Several fans have criticized him for this behavior. However, Malinda Adams recently revealed via her X account that Patrick Beverley has apologized for his appalling behavior. She wrote, “I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize.”
Apart from this locker room debacle, Patrick Beverley was involved in another unsavory incident, but this time with a couple of Indiana Pacers fans. With approximately 2:30 minutes left on the clock and down by 20 points, Pat Bev threw a basketball at Pacers fans not once, but twice.

Patrick Beverley isn’t known for being calm and composed. In fact, he has gained a reputation for being a “pest,” often getting under the skin of opposing players with his disruptive antics. However, what he did last night was inexcusable. Any physical altercation with fans is strictly prohibited in the NBA. But there could be a rationale behind Pat Bev’s aggressive reaction, and Shams Charania might have some insights into the incident.

According to Shams, “The exchange between Patrick Beverley and one of the fans in Indianapolis escalated when the Bucks were breaking huddle Thursday night, and the fan yelled, “Cancún…Cancún on 3.” He also stated that the NBA is actively investigating the incident. However, it comes as no surprise that Pat Bev has drawn criticism from all corners of the basketball community.
It’s especially disappointing because Patrick Beverley isn’t a 24-year-old immature youngster, but a 35-year-old savvy veteran. The NBA has a history of handing out lengthy suspensions to players who are involved in physical altercations with fans. So, will the NBA find him guilty, or will Pat Bev be spared?
