Is there a more skilled player in the NBA than Kyrie Irving? If you ask fellow point guard Damian Lillard, the answer might be no. Yesterday, the Dallas Mavericks pulled off a remarkable victory over the Denver Nuggets thanks to Kyrie Irving’s insane left-handed game-winner. Fans were left in awe of Kyrie’s otherworldly finish, with even Lillard admitting that “Kyrie the most skilled mf ever.” Few would disagree with Dame’s take.
Kyrie Irving’s game-winner has ignited hope within the Mavs’ fanbase that their beloved team has a genuine chance of winning the title with Kyrie and Luka Doncic on their side. However, on a personal level, this has put Irving in contention for a place on the Team USA roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Many feel that Kyrie Irving deserves a roster spot due to his unique skill set and contributions that few others can match.
Shams Charania of The Athletic falls in that category. During a segment on Run It Back, Shams stated that fans should keep an eye on Kyrie Irving’s prospects for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He said, “He has a great desire to play on Team USA. He wants to be a part of the Olympic team in Paris… (Kyrie Irving) was the 2014 World Cup MVP, he was on the 2016 Olympic team that won gold medal. I think that he’s going to be a name to continue to monitor for Team USA.”
