With the Paris Olympics being about halfway through its schedule and favorites like Simone Biles and Noah Lyles winning gold medals, sports enthusiasts are even more excited about what lies ahead. Alongside the LeBrons and Steph Currys of the world, representing Team USA, the Olympics still need significant entities to promote their events across the globe. For this one, they chose Snoop Dogg, whose West Coast slang, along with his cartoonish persona, is enough to make people laugh. However, even fame does not come free, even if for a noble sporting cause, as was revealed in the latest salary drop!

As per insider Henryl Mcnamara’s NBC executive source, Snoop Dogg is getting paid $500k a day + expenses to attend and promote the Olympics. Well, the rapper is bound to receive five-star treatment with five-star facilities. However, there is a reason why the rapper-turned-sports commentator is getting such a handsome amount for his presence at the Paris Olympics. The Olympic viewership is soaring high, with about 34 million viewers as per NBC Sports, surging 79% more than that of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. And a chunk of that viewership goes to Snoop Dogg, as per NBC’s executive producer of the Olympics, Molly Solomon.

Referring to the 52-year-old as the “ambassador of happiness,” Soloman said during a press call, “We’ve been pleasantly surprised by his popularity, but you never ever underestimate Snoop Dogg.” No doubt Snoop is a famous personality, but what exactly is he contributing at the Paris Olympics?

What’s Snoop Dogg doing at the Paris Olympics?

The rapper-turned-sports commentator has been bringing positive vibes to the Olympics broadcast with his charisma. He has been the talk of the Paris Olympics since the opening day when the world witnessed him bearing the torch during the opening ceremony. As the Olympic events followed, paparazzi primarily covered him, clicking pictures on different occasions, sitting on the sidelines, and supporting athletes alongside their families. One of the clicks that got fans’ attention was with Billie Jean King, a tennis legend.

Recently, the music legend appeared in the Telemundo broadcast booth with a 61-year-old Argentinian soccer commentator, Andres Cantor. The 52-year-old joined the legendary commentator ahead of the USWNT match against Japan for the quarter-finals. However, before the actual presentation, Cantor gave him a mock assignment to yell from the stomach. Impressively, Snoop lasted 10 seconds in his first attempt!

Cantor then gave Snoop a US Soccer Jersey as a reward with the rapper’s name and No. 20 on the back. There are various incidents like these where Snoop shared the frame with athletes like Noah Lyles and Michael Phelps, and supporting Simone Biles from the stands, among others. Let us know in the comments what’s your favorite moment of Snoop Dogg from the Paris Olympics.
