Combined, both teams of USA basketball, men’s and women’s, didn’t lose to a single nation in their preparation for the Paris Olympics. The likes of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, A’ja Wilson, and others carry gravitas capable of intimidating opponents. They are the best of the biggest basketball league in the world. Simply put, they look indestructible on paper.
But nothing is said about logistics. Since badminton bumped basketball out of Paris, it has spelled some trouble for the NBA and WNBA-packed teams. Due to their enormous acclaim, Team USAB has opted to stay away from the Olympic Village since 1992. This year, they are located in a luxurious Paris hotel, where the knockout stages of the Olympic games will take place.
However, before the knockouts, LeBron James and the entire basketball squadron will have to travel to Lillie before every game. According to Basket News, they will need to travel by train, which is a journey of two hours. Roads seem to be a feasible option in comparison, but the preparations for the event have resulted in the travel time extending to four hours by road.

To not hamper their availability on game day, Team USA will travel to Lillie a day prior to their games and leave for their Paris accommodation immediately after the conclusion of their contests. However, the current happenings in France have disrupted the entire rail line, along with the nation.
Arson attacks delay rail lines in France ahead of Paris Olympics opening ceremony
As the beautiful country of France, which has hosted several major competitions prepared to light up the Olympics, a huge turmoil took place. On the morning of the opening ceremony, the French’s speedy rail lines reported three arson attacks. The malicious act left over 800,000 regular travelers in disarray.
Apart from the hurdles on the track, there were also cyber attacks orchestrated by hackers which left thousands of passengers stranded on stations. All the major pathways to Paris seem to have been blocked out. Even though the high-speed railway is slowly beginning to resume, the authorities claim there could be a delay of up to two hours.

The arson attacks could have drastic implications on Team USA, who planned to use these rail networks to get to Lillie for the group stage games. With such security concerns, there are chances the basketball body decides to change their transportation plans and may decide to maneuver through the roads to get to their destination.
No update has been released from the USAB yet. Nor has the Paris Olympics opening ceremony been delayed at the onset of the recent attacks. We will probably get a clearer picture on the security situation in a day or two. What’s your take on Team USA staying so far away from the group stage venue?
