As Team USA gears up for the 2024 Paris Olympics, LeBron James has excited fans with a new Instagram story from behind the scenes of the team’s training session. The Los Angeles Lakers star shared an exciting “before-after” photo of what seems to be Team USA’s very first Olympic training session.

The “before” featured a boomerang view of James’s neatly organized training equipment—his new basketballs, new sneakers, and Team USA’s very own navy blue jersey. Post the session, James posted the “after” segment, a little video that revealed the aftermath of what appeared to be a rigorous training session. His jersey had changed colors owing to being drenched with sweat and his shoes had been broken into. The “after” was definitely a testament to the intensity of the session. King James is already putting in the work and sacrificing his body, as he had promised.

Earlier this month on the ‘Mind The Game’ podcast with JJ Redick, LeBron discussed his approach to the current off-season, and how he’s switching things up for the Olympics. James, who has always utilized the off-season to take at least 2 months off of basketball and recover, had to change his routine this time around.

He said, “I don’t want to go into training camp doing nothing on the court for two months, so I’m going to kind of switch it up a little bit.” His current schedule envisioned him resting throughout May and then resuming training by June. But by the looks of it, he may have kick-started his training sooner than imagined.

This year is extremely special for Team USA. With speculations around retirement, this will be Kevin Durant and LeBron James’ last run at the Olympics. And for Stephen Curry, this might be his first and last shot at a gold medal. With Durant being 35 years old, LeBron, 39 and Curry, 36, we may never see the golden trio play together again.

KD has been a weapon for Team USA in the past three series and has 3 golds to his name. He is the leading point scorer in USA men’s Olympic history. With 435 points in 22 games, he averaged 19.3 points per game and has a tally of 71 three-pointers, holding the highest record in both statistics. He also ranks #3 on most rebounds with 118 rebounds in the bag. For Steph Curry, the stakes are high. Despite being 4X NBA Champion and 2X MVP, Curry has never played for Team USA. Winning a gold has always been a personal milestone for him and now the opportunity awaits him.

The 2024 Paris Olympics is a fitting stage for the union of the best of the league. The Big 3 are now set to have one last dance on the international stage. For fans of the game, it’s a chance to witness history, to witness the collective performances of three of the best players in NBA history, and hopefully a fifth gold medal.
