Just another day of losing a game for Philly. By now, the disappointment has either accustomed fans or kept them optimistic about a comeback. An 82-game long season, you say. Ten games down with just two wins. Well, the only silver lining is Joel Embiid’s return to the court. Wells Fargo Center saw the Sixers center come back with 13 points. Meanwhile, Paul George hit 29 points, but the efforts weren’t fruitful. However, there is a greater dilemma than losing the games in the 2024/25 season.
The Philadelphia 76ers may have a panicky situation in the squad. Well, a major contribution to this comes from Embiid’s prolonged absence and their $203M star Tyrese Maxey’s injury. Simply put, there is confusion among the Sixers about Paul George’s position in the team. Is he the main man? Or the second or third star of the team?
American rapper Cam’Ron Giles might have an input in this case. He tried to put things into perspective on the It Is What It Is show. Is PG13-turned-PG8 the Number One option for Philadelphia?

“I’m not sure because we see him as a number one option in Indiana, and then get done. We see him as a No.2 option in OKC; it didn’t get done. Then we see him as a No.2 option or No.1 option in LA, it didn’t get done. Maybe the GOAT is better as a third option. Now we’re running out of options,” Cam said.
Paul George consistently ranks as No.1 or No.2 on the teams he has played for throughout his career. Some worked and some didn’t. So right now, he could become the best No.3 in the league and turn the tables for the 76ers. The team offers limited options, and the only choice is to switch from one role to another.
Cam’Ron adds, “We used to see him start but has that worked? No, it hasn’t. So, I think that this is not going to be well for chemistry as far as Tyrese Maxey is missing games. Because I think the more games they get with Tyrese, Joel, and Paul George on the floor the better they’ll be able to contend against Boston or New York.”
In his 15 seasons in the NBA, Paul George has never been on a championship run. He has been the first option. He’s been the second option. PG switched between the first and second options for the Clippers according to the games. Unfortunately, when it came to his luck in winning a Larry O’Brien, it wasn’t in his favor. So, maybe, now it’s his turn to become the No.3 for the 76ers and let the like of Tyrese Maxey take the lead.

Tyrese Maxey is out because of his right hamstring strain. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is back after dealing with his knee issues. The Process’ first encounter of the season was against the Knicks and his considerably rusty 13 points were not such a bad start. However, the team must prepare a solid strategy for the next game on the row. This is because Paul George & Co. will be facing the hottest team in the league- the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs are on an unbeatable roll right now. They’re off to just the eighth 12-0 start in NBA history, sitting firmly atop the East. Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are putting but 20+ points in every game. Frontline or back, the Cavs have turned into an impenetrable wall. And even if the Sixers roster were healthy, it’s difficult to say if they stood a chance before Cleveland.
That said, if the Philly management doesn’t put Paul George and Joel Embiid on the court for the back-to-back on Wednesday, then who will take their roles? Guerschon Yabusele is the best option for a center and Caleb Martin could take on PG’s forward post. But, will the shift promise a win? Questionable.
