With three MVP trophies, Nikola Jokic has solidified himself as the best big man of this era. He might add another one to his cabinet this season with the way he has been playing. However, the Serbian Giant could not get the job tonight as his team got blown out by the Knicks. Of course, it was Karl-Anthony Towns who limited The Joker to only 17 points and six assists, which is a rare feat. But it looks like Draymond Green was not very impressed with KAT’s effort.

The former DPOY tweeted, “KAT in a full front on Joker… even if you win the game it don’t matter. You will never hold the respect from an opponent to win at the highest level… pride must make you sit down and guard, even if you give up 40… Winning is a mindset, and in order to win a championship… You have to win the mental edge… that’s why only a few guys per era win all the championships… They understand that Thing.”

Sure, the Knicks contained Jokic offensively, but even Towns had a fairly disappointing outing. He scored only 14 points and missed all four of his three-point attempts. And Draymond believes KAT might not hold up against Jokic in a higher stake situation like the playoffs. Obviously, the Warriors star knew that his opinion would garner a ton of criticism from the hoop community. So, he sent out a stern message to the haters in advance.

“Looking forward to NOT reading comments from a bunch of (Clowns) tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. If you already did… paint your face.” Green tweeted, merely minutes before heading to the court for tonight’s Warriors vs Thunder game. Of course, he is not suiting up as he is dealing with a calf strain.

Surprisingly, this is not the first time Green has publicly called out KAT!

Draymond Green doubted Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves last year against Nikola Jokic and Co.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Karl-Anthony Towns silence Draymond Green's doubts and lead the Knicks to NBA glory?

Have an interesting take?

While Draymond’s tweet makes it seem otherwise, KAT has beaten Jokic on the big stage once before. And it happened last year in the West semis. Yes, Towns was still on the Wolves roster back then and they eliminated the Nuggets in a thrilling seven-game series. Even then, Green did not have much faith in KAT as he said to TNT after one game that the Wolves lost, “When you are in this playoff series, for me, I look for the smallest weakness that I can find. And the way Karl-Anthony Towns walked off that floor with that limp after he played the rest of the game totally fine… they don’t believe they can win anymore, which means the series is over.”

However, the Wolves proved the four-time champion wrong and made a miraculous comeback to beat the then-reigning champions. Sure, Towns is now playing for a different team in a unique situation. But he has been dominant as a Knick, averaging 24.9 points and nearly fourteen rebounds. Maybe, Draymond’s tweet will work as fuel and motivate KAT to prove him wrong once again. However, this time, he will only face the Nuggets in the playoffs if both teams reach the NBA Finals. Do you think KAT can lead the Knicks to the top?
