The Monday night game between the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics had all sorts of drama. The game went down to the wire, where the points tied at 131 with 43 seconds left in the game. While it could have been anyone’s game, neither of the teams, made a single bucket in the remaining time, until the Pacers drew a foul call with less than a second left on the game clock, and the eventually home side went on to win the game.

But one particular official review with  3 seconds remaining on the clock hurt the Celtics very badly. It cost the visitors the game. Following the play, it resulted in an exchange of words between the Celtics HC Joe Mazzulla and the Pacers Buddy Hield. Let’s find out more about it in detail.

With the score tied at 131, the Celtics got the possession of the ball with 12 seconds remaining on the clock. Jaylen Brown went up against three Pacers defenders for a jump shot to get the lead, missed it, but extracted a foul call on Buddy Hield. Immediately, the Pacers called for a review.

In the replay, Hield’s hand can be seen brushing the back of Brown’s head. But the officials overturned the call and the Pacers again got possession of the ball with 3 seconds remaining in the game. It frustrated Joe Mazzulla, and he had an exchange with Hield.

Notably, Jared Weiss, The Athletic reporter, claimed that Buddy Hield admitted that he fouled Brown to Mazzulla. Following that, Weiss stated that the Celtics coach said that he couldn’t wait for the last two-minute report (L2M).

While this game already grabbed a lot of attention because of Tyrese Haliburton’s unfortunate injury, the controversial review further grabbed a lot of eyeballs.

Moments after the first update about the controversial call, Jared Weiss made another update regarding the exchange between the coach and the Pacers player. Weiss’ post stated that Hield refused to reveal the conversation, but at the same time, he admitted that he made some contact with Brown.
