Despite being one of the NBA’s small-market teams, the Indiana Pacers have emerged as a formidable force in the 2023-24 season. They are constantly propelling themselves into the ranks of the league’s elite franchises. Their dynamic offense centered around Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, and Obi Toppin is taking the NBA by storm. Furthermore, they rank at the top in points production with their lightning-quick offense and exceptional ball rotation.

As the men’s team continues to achieve success, there’s an optimistic outlook for their WNBA counterpart. With recent developments, they have positioned themselves on a similar path of triumph to the Pacers.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the Fevers, Myles Turner, a longstanding player for the Pacers, couldn’t contain his excitement about the future. In a recent video he posted, Turner exclaimed, “Indy, let’s go! Two years in a row with the No. 1 draft pick. I am so excited to see what we do with it this year. Go Fever! I’m looking forward to this season.” The consecutive top draft picks have put Indiana in a spot to potentially impact the league.

Despite the In-Season Finale loss, there’s a silver lining for the city of Indiana in the form of the Indiana Fever. Their WNBA franchise has clinched the top spot in the 2024 WNBA drafts for the second consecutive year. It is also their third-straight top-two selection.

Who will the Fever pick?

Caitlin Clark stands as the presumptive No. 1 pick for the 2024 drafts, having showcased an outstanding performance in Division I. She led in assists per game with an impressive 8.6 and made 140 3-pointers. Furthermore, she also secured the second-best scoring average of 27.8 per game during her junior year. With Indiana securing the top pick, the prospect of witnessing Clark’s high basketball IQ and floor awareness alongside Aliyah Boston adds an intriguing dimension to the upcoming drafts.

On the other hand, Paige Bueckers, the 2021 Naismith winner (freshman year), presents another formidable contender for the top spot. Given her talents, it would not be surprising if she traded the spot with Clark for the top. However, she has yet to disclose her decision to enter the drafts. Owing to injuries, there’s a possibility of her delaying her WNBA career. Bueckers came to the college world leveled as a generational talent.
